There are not many diesel truck pulls to attend here, so I called on the Dixon pull. They have had several inquiries for a diesel class and though not advertised, said they would pull any diesels in an open diesel class with 100% payback. The pull is located 4 miles south of Dixon, Missouri on Hwy 28 at 7:00pm. I plan to go and still looking for other pulls this month if anyone has information. Larry

Hey Larry,

I would like to come, but i have to get up on the 6th and go to work. and without a notice i cannot get off.

How ever i would like to invite anyone around the missouri area to come to a pull around KC in Richmond MO.

I have got it set up for a diesel class, but everyone has lost intrest around here except me, they would like to have at least 6 trucks.

Adam

Adam,

I'll do my best to get some folks to pull at Richmond if there isn't a conflict, when is your pull? If you know of other pulls in the KC or northern areas, please let me know and I'll attend. Big Don and son Doc both emailed me tonight asking for diesel trucks to fill a class in Union, MO (Franklin County Fair) on July 4th. Pullers are requested to be there a 6:00pm. I plan to go to both pulls over the holiday. Larry

Man I wish I would have known about these fairs sooner so that i could have made plans. But thats the way it goes.

The fair up here is on the 19 of july at 7 pm we would not pull untill the end. It would be just for fun. If I get a good showing there might be possible to get a class for us over here that would pay for the winners.

Let me know about any other up commings.

I think I may attend the washington, Mo fair.

Adam,

Know what you mean, I didn't get the word on the Union pull until last night and RE: the Dixon pull, I called on it yesterday afternoon. If it will help I will pull at Richmond, but not many folks will drive the distance if they don't have a chance to at least win travel costs and entry fees. I deer hunt north of Richmond so maybe I can go early and use the trip to construct a new deer stand.

You may want to check on the Warrenton pull. I called early last week and was told there would be no diesel class. Please let me know if they changed their minds as the Lebanon, KY pull is 600 miles and I don't want to drive it alone. Should be a great pull though.

The other diesel pull that I know about is in my home town of California, MO. It's on August 5th during the Moniteau County Fair. The pull is well attended with garden tractors thru heavy tractors and gas trucks. This year is a first for diesel pickups with a run what you drove in class paying 5 places with at least one trophy -- $50. 00, $40. 00,$30. 00, etc. Entry fee is $10. 00. I had nothing to do with setting up the pull, I've just started pulling and haven't even mentioned it locally. (old enough to know better:))

I pulled in the california last year. They let me pull for free.

Maybe i can make planns to go to it this year, i know several people that live around there. Since i went to school in linn.

I will see what I can find out about warrinton (sp) fair.

Let me know about comming to richmond, If I can get like 10 trucks and everyone will agree to pay a little money we can set up a pot, I just don't want there to be bickering over who won.

I guess i need to get my hitch done!

Adam,

The Dixon pull had five diesel PU entries, all Dodge, 4 of the trucks ran real strong. The sled weighed 42,400lbs and since the operators dislike diesel pickups they pulled diesels after the open class with the weightbox on the sled adding noticeable weight after only 20ft or so. This made our trucks look weak compared to the Street or even Prostock gassers'. I also entered the open class and placed third behind two alcohol burning 2whldrive dragsters and beat an open class 670cid Ford 4x4 and a Chebby.

I will pull at Richmond but haven't found anyone else that is interested. There is a pull near here (Russellville) this Saturday, they pulled diesel PU's year but I haven't called about this year.

What about the Show Me Showdown in Macon? Do they have a diesel class?

78,

Didn't know about the Macon pull, when is it? I'll make some calls and try to go if they allow our trucks. Are you going?

Larry

Thats cool Larry.

I am going to ask for the 5 of aug off so that i can go to the california pull.

E-mail me if you need directions or if you would like to meet me somewhere before.

No diesel pickup class a ShowMe Showdowns

I called the Tractor Pullers of Midwest rep. as listed on the ATPA website and not only is there no diesel pickup class in Macon, he wasn't aware the ATPA had rules or such a class. Macon is a big pull all day Saturday and some classes Sunday, they do have a diesel semi-truck pulling class.

Adam,

I have no problem with safety equipment, though I hope they don't expect my truck to act like the mini-rods... ..... If you want to post or email me directions and times that would be helpful. If we pull last I'd estimate around midnite? Glad that you are coming to the California pull, let's get together at both pulls. Larry

Guys, I would love to come out and play with you all, but the Union pull just about totaled the clutch in the one ton. I am very quickly becoming Ramless. I am working on trying to get both trucks running, so I can make at least a few more pulls before the season ends.

I would like to meet up with you (and some other pullers) to watch. I don't have anything to pull as my truck is a 2WD. Are you going to Russelville?

Don,

Sorry to hear about the clutch, we missed you and your team/well dressed crew at Dixon. Hint... ... ... . I can provide you the phone number of this Mitchell guy in Ohio that sells these outstanding pulling clutches... ... ... ... . of course you'll have to park that new Harley long enough to do the install ;) :) :). I emailed Doc to see if New Haven is pulling diesels, do you know whose sled will be there?

78powerwagon,

I called on the Russelville pull but didn't speak to anyone familar with the classes. A lady read off the list which included a 7500lb. Street Stock and an Open Class so I hope to pull in both. The pull starts at 6:00pm. I think the New Haven pull is an afternoon pull so I will try to make it, if possible. Look me up or shoot me an email and I'll give you my cell number, if the New Haven thing works out you are welcome to meet me say in Jeff City and ride to New Haven.

Dixon Pull

Hey Larry, Remeber me, I had spoken to you at the Dixon Truck pull About getting some more diesels to pull locally in MO. I have talked to several people and they seem pretty interested about "hooking" their trucks. Also, I have noticed that even if there isn't a diesel class at a pull, they usually will make one if there is enough interest. Larry you should come to St. Anthony Aug 3rd. I will be there and a couple others for sure.

JTeague,

I've been trying to get my schedule moved around to pull on that weekend. I do remember our conversation at Dixon and appreciate the mention of St. Anthony. The MMTTPA is santioning the the St. Anthony pull and the Cole County pull on August 2nd. MMTTPA wanted six trucks for a class at Russellville last Saturday and booted some of us out of the Open Class when the gas boys complained. I would like to see more diesel pulls but just do not feel welcome with these guys (though the sled owners are a real nice). If I can find someone to help drive I am going to pull at Somerville, KY on Aug. 2nd but need to be back by noon on the 3rd. If you can get the Knights of Columbus in St. Anthony to make sure diesels are welcome, I'll be happy to pull at St. Anthony. :) Not trying to put this on you but I need help in promoting the diesel class, maybe MMTTPA thinks I'm the lone diesel PU promoter. :( :( . I'm having fun but not sure that I'll pull after this year. I do want to practice a little before Scheid's though. Let me know what you find.
