Truck Pull! Western WI, eastern MN
Well it is time for our annual truck pull in Osceola, WI September 10th. This is a small fair, food, rides, beer... ..... etc.
This is the Osceola Sno-Goers fund raising pull for our local snowmobile club. As President of our club I will tell ya what I know. Last year was the first year for a diesel class. Diesel vs diesel, and they run last in the event, which means even though the event will start at 6pm you can still enter your truck all the way till the class starts, which is close to 11pm, but try not to push it. This year I am running my truck, pressure from the club members ya know?, anyway what I can tell ya is the weight class for us is 8000 pounds. It is run what ya brung. Which means, me as well, what you have done to your truck or what your horse power numbers are and torque numbers keep them too yourself. The less we know the less whining we have. Last year was sad to see the Duramaxs win all 3 pay spots. I am hoping that this will not be the case this year. I would love to see as many CTD's as possible there.
Now usually I am on the announcers stand writing down the distance, drinking beer, and handing out money, for the winners in there respective classes. All I can tell about the track is that it is clay, little slick and moist, but can dry out quick, since I have heard tires squealing as they are pulling. The sled is the Wild Rose, not a bad sled to pull, as I have not seen many trucks break pulling it. On the other hand it does have a nasty plate under it and when it drops, just "stop", no way are you going to pull all the angle iron it has under it anywhere.
The fee for pulling is 20. 00, pay out is usually to 4th place, but may only pay back 3 if we don't have enough trucks. So I hope to see many of you there, please e-mail me or pm me with questions, and please keep this thread alive for a month... ... ... ... . lol.
