Err ahh, Ford Transmission

Hello to All.

I pulled my truck for the first time last night and took first place. It was in Harrells NC, a NTPA Sanctioned event. As you can see from my sig I have a 2500, I pulled against a Ford with a 429, two Chevy's 2500s, one 1500 Dodge and a couple of 1500 Chevy's. The first pull I went 340 Ft and spun out when I ran outa track which was a good thing due to a corn field was at the end of the track. I had a pull off with one of the 2500 Chevy's and I pulled 327 feet and 10 inches, the Chevy only pulled 297 feet and a couple of inches.

I pulled my "stock" truck in 1st gear and in 4wd High range. I tighten the chain and then let the clutch out and slowly applyed the throttle, after that I ran her at 3 Grand and watched the lines go by. At about the 250 foot mark the chain they added to the sleigh started to put a load on my truck. It was great showing the crowd what the Diesel was capablie of doing. :D

See ya

CRuD,

Harrels is only 50 miles from me. I'll have to check it out. Any special equipment required ? Helmet, deadman, hitch other than stock... ?

Just a friendly warning at a paranoid moment. You will pay to play. Clutches smoke, driveline components take major stress (transfer case), etc...

But heh,,, have fun! Just don't cry when the repair bill comes. ;)

(been there, done that)

No helmet or anything else needed. All we did was hook a clevis into where you mount a ball. So as long as you have a 2" receiver you should be good to go.

Have you seen the posts under local events ? There is a post in there about the June meeting for N. C. Check it out, we have a good time, we have something to eat and then stand or sit around and shoot the bull.

Mark

I am a firm believer in the " If you want to play, sooner or later you will have to pay.

Course I also think that "common sense" is a good thing.

See Ya
