Competition Pulls In Klamath Falls-please Read

Ok I want to pull pickup this year at the local fairs and I want to pull the STOCK classes but the do a pretty good inspection of the trucks I know a few gassers that are tuned up pretty good and I would like to give them a run for there money. If I put on the edge comp box can is it easy to pick out under the hood. They allow intake kits and stuff like that. What are some of your ideas? Will the stock transmission hold up to the edge comp for occasional pulling or would I have to have the transmission done right away. Well theres also a stoker that is always in the top two the guy is a real *** hole and would love to take him I'm a tractor pulling guy some the truck the is new to me. Thanks in advance for those who respond.

Hey thanks for the response I think i'm gonna do it who has the best price on the edge and how long will my transmission hold up to the abuse of pulling I won't really use it on the street?

Pulling

If it is an auto, I have one too. I have pulled on it with the Edge comp about 12 times. Just had pan off and local transmission shop says all looks well. I have about 40,000 miles on the stock auto transmission with the edge comp. Usual daily driving is on LVL 1, but gets set to LVL 5 quite often. I think what makes mine last with the Comp, is I don't get on it hard until I have the RPM's up. I do most of my playing of LVL3 and above on the interstate. RPM's are up, meaning line pressures in the transmission are up. I always turn the OD off if I am under 50 mph too. It is a risky move. I was willing to gamble. You just got to be willing to pay up if you loose! Mine also is only 2 wheel drive. I think this is easier on it too (sled pulling that is).
