I have a 2001 dodge 4 wheel auto quad cab. Hit or miss it will run like it has a large cam and some time with it all the way to the floor it will only do like 1500 RPMs. I have a fuel presser gauge at idle it is like 15 LBS and full throttle it is like 11 Lbs. When it is acting up the fuel presser jump around but never go blow 14 Lbs. Have had it to dodge thay tell me ever thing looks and work good for them thay put on the computer and it all looked good. But it never acted up for them just my luck. With all the work i have done to it no change in how it runs

Codes it have gave me

p1693 code present

p0500 no vehicle speed sensor signal

p0217 Decreasedengine perfocmance due toengine overheating (it was just running like 10 or 15 min when this happened)

p1691 fuel injection pump controller calibration failure

p1689 No communication between ECM and injecation pump modlue

Thing I have replaced

Ecm from junk yard

injection pump New bosh

TPS New

fuel tank module New form dodge

connector tubes o-ring new from dodge

all the fuel filters

adjusted the valves dodge dealer did this

2 years ago i put fast fuel pump by my fuel tank

I hope someone has more idaes I have done ever thing i can think of. #@$%!

I was hopping someone had this happen. Thanks CSnyder I am getting a crank sensor. I hope that it . I like my truck just getting tired of worrking on it I have about 4,000 in it right no and it still runs the same as day one. I am thinking of going back to a 1st gen lol

I too have replaced just about everything you have and still have a miss or lope. I have ordered a new set of injectors will see. I would also check your harmonic balancer and flex plate some people say they can effect idle.

If you have an automatic, on the drivers side tail end of OD housing is a speed sensor, $15. 00 at Auto Zone, mimics lots of things, mine goes bad every two years. Truck will smoke, act likes its out of power, etc

I had an intermittent miss that ended up pretty permanent. I replaced and adjusted everything I could think of and it didn't help. Then I installed a new cam and figured if I had the front of the truck dissasembled I might as well pull the head to get it checked and resurfaced' and to make it easier to install the lifters. I found two things, first the injector tips were pretty dirty and were not spraying well. Second the shop that cleaned up my head found two valve guides that were way oversized, enough to cause a sporadic seating issue with the valves. He bored and sleeved the guides to spec and my engine miss is totally gone, and it is smoother than when new. That may not be your problem but it's something to consider.

let me know brookselder if the injector helps I was thinking of doing that too. Some one told me today it might be a bad fuel cap.
