I wouldn't say you wasted money. Those upgrades make your steering even better than stock (3 turn box) and cause it to steer like a sports car. The DSS will protect any steering box you use. I have both them upgrades and they are money well spent... . death wobble or not. With my son in town for a visit, he and I crawled under the truck with a tape measure and checked the toe on my truck. Lo' and Behold... it was set up with a 1/2 inch of toe-out! No wonder it was shimming. We adjusted it to a 1/4" of toe-in and it drives like a dream and rides much smoother. I hate to say it but I probably "wasted" all that money I spent on the new steering box and DSS. But man does it drive nice!!!:-laf
Glad to hear it's fixed. I have read other threads on DTR (Diesel Truck resource):
Do I need an adjustable upper ball joint? Regular ball joint? Pics inside... - Dodge Diesel - Diesel Truck Resource Forums
by those savy on alignments and toe was a very important factor in our front ends. Typically zero toe as I remember is best.
