JCleary,

It will read actual rail pressure off of the sensor. If someone wanted to they could read what the computer is trying to correct for but as you well know that would be useless. I haven't tried the marine relief valve but we haven't had any rail pressure issues either.

On another note if someone is running big injectors and a downloader we can add the MP-8 and really get some good results. Any box that uses duration will generally drop actual rail pressure way down, we can bump the rail pressure up more which will give you alot better performance without blowing the rail.

JCleary,

As a test on our 03 Dodge I took the rail pressure to 30,000 psi to make sure we were able to read accurate pressures at that point. Results were proven and you can easily read above 26,000 psi to 30,000 psi per the factory sensors.

Dennis

nice. you must have modified the factory Vcc to the sensor to raise its saturation point, which on all unmodified vehicles is known to be about 26,400 psi. What measurement standard did you test your measurements against to prove you were able to read accurate pressures beyond the point where no sender calibration data from Bosch exists (for the stock truck)?

DLeno,

I measured it against the programming on the MP-8. I simply reprogrammed the fuel pressure map to reach 30,000psi or 2040 bar and then checked the readout on the MP-D which read 2,040 bar. There was no need to modify the factory sensor to achieve this task. The factory sensor is good to 2000 bar minimal which in this case was plenty as most applications will not let you reach these limits without blowing the relief valve.

ok I think I get it. sounds like you are using the fuel pressure map inside the MP-8 itself as the basis for and measurement standard for the display readings.

Dennis-

I forgot to ask...

If I took the Ramifier (or any pressure box, for that matter) out, can I still use your new gauge? i. e. to see what the Bully Dog Triple Dog is doing?

JCleary,

I also forgot to add that the MP-D will allow you to set max limits on all 4 settings. If rail pressure was the concern then you can set a fault limit and the Heads up Display will start flashing on your windshield when any of the max limits are reached.

Surprise, surprise, the Ramifier Rocks!!!

So far I've run a 100hp Quad, the 140hp Quad, the Triple Dog, TST, and Ramifier.

Only dyno results I have ('til tomorrow) are for the 100hp quad and the 100hp Ramifier.

Both boxes were run on the same (stock) truck with an AFE intake and Banks exhaust. Both runs on Mustang dynos with stock hp#'s that were very close.

Quad:

Stock 247/474

100hp 336/685

Gains of 89hp and 211 lb-ft.

Ramifier:

Stock 254/478

100hp 359/727

Gains of 105hp and 249 lb-ft.

I tell you, it surprised me. Ramifier (MP-8) does make the power it advertises!

That said, it sure makes the motor rattle more than the Quad. I bet they use a bit more pressure. They must, as they don't hook up to the APPS or data link.

I'd love to get one of these new monitors to see what pressures the rail is maintaining.

JCleary,

Actually we probally use less pressure than any other company out there. The rattle you are hearing is coming from the reprogrmming of the Map Sensor. We can Adjust this for your application. The truck uses the MAP Sensor as a reference for injection timing as well as Boost. We don't just use the Map Sensor to just do boost fooling, this is why we can achieve the extra hp over other boxes without putting the rail at risk.

On another note: We just installed the 120hp injectors and are ready for testing. So if you are running aftermarket injectors we should have some new programs and info for you to use. We haven't put the PowerFool 2 on yet so the testing will be done with a downloader and the MP-8 with an Aftermarket Turbo.

Let us know when the new programs as well as the new info are ready and then I'll send my MP8 in!
