Has anyone heard of this TSB? It allows the use of the cruise control to provide a high idle by turning on the cruise and pressing the set button. The idle will go to 1000 rpm until you shut it off or tap the brake. You can raise the idle to 1500 with the ACCELL button.

There is allready a thread in here somewhere about it. Going to dealer for another free oil chg tomorrow & will try to get the straight poop on it. I would really like to be able to speed up mine as 1000 isn't enough for prolonged idle when it is -30

Find out if it is something that can be added to the 03's. Looks like it may only be for the 04's? It would be nice to have!

I tried to have this done today at the dealer and they wouldn't do it because they tried it on another truck and couldn't get it to work.

He also said that chrysler was redoing it or something. ANyone else have a similar experience?

I had the TSB done this morning. I can't get it to work, but it may only work when it's cold. I'll try again tomorrow morning.

The TSB doesn't list what years it's for, but in the repair procedure, it tells the tech how to get to the proper menu "on 1998 1/2 - 2003 vehicles".

That leads me to believe it will work on those vehicles.

Note: This TSB does require an ECM re-flash, at least in some cases.

A couple of people have PM'd me. At least one of them is going to put the TSB up on his website after I scan & email it to him tonight.

Well, DF5152 sent me a pm and said that he'd post the TSB if I sent it to him. I replied and asked for an email address and haven't heard anything else.

If anyone else willing to put it up, I'll email it to them.

Heck, if you just want a copy I'll send it.

Forgot to mention, that they come up real small in the browser, if you hold your mouse over the text you should have a button pop up in the lower right corner. Click that and it will be readable.

DF5152 - Check your email.

Well guys, I can't get it to work.

Followed the TSB instructions... Started the truck, didn't touch anything, turn on cruise control, hit "set". Nothing happened. Hit "resume"... nothing happened.

I'm beginning to wonder if the tech enabled the feature after the flash.

Thanks Dan. Good job.

Still no performance issues that I can detect, but the feature doesn't work.

Monday morning I plan to stop by the dealer and try to get them to check to make sure it is enabled.

Has anyone else tried this?

I stopped by the dealer this morning on my way to work.

Evidently the tech did the flash, but didn't enable the feature. It works great now.

I still can't detect any perfomance decrease since the flash. I've run about 1/2 tank of fuel through the truck since I had it done. Filled up last night. No change in mileage. :)

For the life of me, I can't find a down side to this one! :D :D :D
