Has anyone heard of this TSB? It allows the use of the cruise control to provide a high idle by turning on the cruise and pressing the set button. The idle will go to 1000 rpm until you shut it off or tap the brake. You can raise the idle to 1500 with the ACCELL button.
There is allready a thread in here somewhere about it. Going to dealer for another free oil chg tomorrow & will try to get the straight poop on it. I would really like to be able to speed up mine as 1000 isn't enough for prolonged idle when it is -30
Well, DF5152 sent me a pm and said that he'd post the TSB if I sent it to him. I replied and asked for an email address and haven't heard anything else.
If anyone else willing to put it up, I'll email it to them.
I assumed it was gonna just be one file to upload, but being the .jpg 's I just downsized them a bit and uploaded them, best I can do with what I have.
Forgot to mention, that they come up real small in the browser, if you hold your mouse over the text you should have a button pop up in the lower right corner. Click that and it will be readable.
Followed the TSB instructions... Started the truck, didn't touch anything, turn on cruise control, hit "set". Nothing happened. Hit "resume"... nothing happened.
I'm beginning to wonder if the tech enabled the feature after the flash.
I stopped by the dealer this morning on my way to work.
Evidently the tech did the flash, but didn't enable the feature. It works great now.
I still can't detect any perfomance decrease since the flash. I've run about 1/2 tank of fuel through the truck since I had it done. Filled up last night. No change in mileage.
For the life of me, I can't find a down side to this one!
