looking to upgrade my 2005 dually since I will be pulling a 44' car hauler.

I know with my 1995 that was bombed it is a chain reaction of upgrades.

After 3 auto transmissions & put in a complete BD auto box I presume with my 2005 if I increase the HP/TQ everything behind will have to be upgrade also.

Question is which box is easer to use to program.

I am not yet used to this plug & play stuff I am old school of fuel plates, timing, etc.

With a box I plan to upgrade the exhaust and the typical boost & pyro gauges.

I used TST products before but they were non-electronic.

Just wondering

 Doh... ... ... ... .

I should have read a few post lower about the edge for the 555.

Brings up a point back in 2003 and I was at a Houston truck show and Edge was there in a booth and they said they would have a box out soon.

That soon came and gone in my book and now I ned some spice for my 2005 soon. Looks like a TST may fit the bill but I will wait and see how the beta testing is going with other members.

Edge Juice

The Edge Juice w/ attitude monitor has been available for the 600's ('04. 5-'05) for awhile. You won't have a problem. I still have to wait to get one for my '04.

That is the million dollar question... You will get both sides here on the TDR

TST powermaxCR - fuels way hard and can make stupid power, but at a cost, Because the TST PMCR fuels way past the ability of a stock turbo and drivetrain (read- BE CAREFUL, and dont get greedy), that said, I love mine and WILL NOT be using Edge when the production juice final arrives for my truck

EDGE - cool low boost fueling, and some really neat stuff on the attitude controller

I have a TST stacked with an Edge EZ. What Tomeygun said - it can make stupid power. So stupid in fact that I haven't gone past 6/6 on the TST, it frightens me too much :D I've been trying various combinations of settings on the TST and the Edge. Anything past power=4 on the TST and doesn't matter on the Edge, and you can make all the smoke you want for those who like that sort of thing. 4/3 on TST and 2 on Edge is pretty good and no smoke.

The nice thing about TST is you have all those settings for power and torque and can tune the thing to what you are doing and what equipment you have. I haven't towed with this truck yet so I'll have to get back to you on that

One important thing to note that sold me on the TST box is that it does NOT mess with fuel rail pressure. I for one would feel more comfortable about increasing power without increasing rail pressure seeing that it hits some 26,000psi under WOT as it is... I dont know maybe Im just being too uptight though ;)

 I guess I need to research before I jump the gun sorta speak.

Looking at the Edge website as mentioned the 2003 (555) is the missing one.

My 1995 CTD had gages galore and back then I wished upon 1 single unit to select what I want shown & programable.

with this in mind I am leaning towards the Juice & Attitude.

I know we can beat this horse till it is blue in the face on this subject and I will stay away for now on asking about who has the best automatic transmission aftermarket parts to "Beef Up" my 05 :-laf

On the tst website they have their chip sold with the fass fuel pump. I bet they are being smart and not letting the chrysler lift pump be the weak link. We have an 01 with the TST and it has been great. I really like being to set the egt limits when towing. I do belive the edge can be set that way also and every one I know seems to like the edge. Good choice on the B&W hitch they are the best on the market. I just put one in a customers truck this morning. AlexWV when you stacked the chips did you get a big increase of fuel milage as well as power?

I didn't buy the TST with fass since the 05's have a push pump in the tank instead of a lift pump. Fuel pressure with that is pretty much always at 8 or 9 psi no matter what I do.

As far as mileage, I will let you know. This last tank was used during mods: First TST by itself and everything else stock except air intake and straight pipe. Then TST + Turbo + Intercooler. Then TST + EZ + Turbo + Intercooler. Needless to say, there was much experimentation and rubber testing with that tank of gas. I filled it up today and that tank came in at 13. 5 mpg -- which is still better than my Hemi ever got. If I would have drove the Hemi for a tank of gas like I drove the CTD this particular tank of gas, I would be surprised if it would have got 8mpg.

Now I have the TST on 4/3 and the EZ on 1. I am going to drive normal for this tank to get a baseline. No smoke shows, no burnouts, just normal, the way I always drive. And I'm not going to change the settings. Once I have a reading on that, I will do the same experiment with other settings.

A little story:

Today on the way home I was approaching this hill. At the bottom is an on ramp and a CTD Dually (looked brand new) pulled onto the highway and chased me down. It was full of people and I think they wanted to play. I waited till they got even and barely just touched the go pedal. Launched that thing up the hill from 65 to 85 in a blink of an eye. The dually must have been stock because it didn't stand a chance. That was TST on 4/3, Edge on 1. :D

With my TST on 5. 5 with my other mods I can bark my 35" tires in 2nd thru 5th gears if I run it close to redline on the shift. I hope my drivetrain can handle it, but I try not to do it often because I am afraid of breaking something!

Better go with the TST or you'll be :{ every time a guy with a tst pulls along side for a little friendly competition. :-laf

One day with the Beya unit on, and one things for sure:

TST - DYNO shredding power

JUICE - Really neat monitor, and the alerts are kinda cool... ALOT to play with

BUT, Top end leave much to be desired in terms of HP, Though the low-boost fueling works very well (read SMOKE SHOW, not that I would ever do that on purpose)

I'm not scared of the tst he might beat me and he might not but I'm not scared are you, you sound like a friend in a 12 valve that said with my little 180 hp box wouldn't beat him lets just say 3 out of 3 races I got all them.

oh and the smoke shows are the best, I do it on purpose exspeacilly when the kid with the windows down tell me I should think about the ozone layer when I'm on level 2 so I had to show him what level 5 thinks about it.

Slow down speed racer... I see you are in EDGE's backyard, right? (Ogden, Utah) - Must be nice, Hot version within minutes ;)

So have you had that truck dynoed yet? PS - I did not know EDGE made a "jucie" :-laf :-laf (I saw it in your sig, sorry couldn't help myself)

Also, Second that on the low-boost fueling, My lord can 5x5 lay some coal!

But the top end does not match the low-boost fueling, Mine seems to fall off a bit... :(

so does mine without the EZ... plugs into the rail sensor. aren't you using that plug?

Yeah, I used all plugs that came with the juice, and I have not stacked my EZ yet, seeing as I dont think it is a great idea because the 555 juice uses some pressure to get things going

:-laf no smoke shows on purpose well maybe just a little it's all fun Tom.

Forecast around the Kirkwood area = "expect low hanging clouds, followed by a light mid-afternoon haze"

But if the fuzz is still there on the side of the road giving that guy a ticket - "clear skies" :-laf
