We had a 95 automatic truck in the shop and had a TST 230/605 plate for it. We put it in and installed the boost valve and some tst guages and the truck is still a dog. It only runs 25lbs of boost... . we dont know what to do. We used the guide plate so we put the new fuel stop plate in the same postition.

Any ideas? it will run 20 lbs in first, 23 olbs in secound and 25 in third.

thanks for the ideas guys!

egt's is 800 at full throttle... . this truck is got us... my turck is a 96 and it will spin the tires in 3rd gear... but this 95 auto doesnt run very good!

800 pre or post turbo? I'm thinking post but gotta ask.

Slide the plate forward a little at a time until it offers performance that you like.

Make sure the line that the boost fitting is in, isn't piched or disconnected. That line sends the boost to the AFC housing diaphram. If it isn't getting enough boost, it will hold the fuel back.

Did you slide the AFC housing forward, like they said to?

May need to adjust the screw in the boost fitting, if the other suggestions don't work.

Yes towards the front bumper.

Also check all the clamps from the turbo around to the intake horn to make sure they're tight.

Take the AFC off and take it for a test ride. If the AFC is not working the plate never comes into play. If you take the AFC off the truck will really smoke, but if the problem is the AFC the truck will haul butt without it.

Check and make sure the Gov. arm isn't going UNDER the plate.

Remove AFC housing

Turn key to on position

Pull Fuel Solenoid to up position

Slowly move throttle forward by hand and see where the Gov. Arm is going.

I had to adjust mine on my current truck and boy it made a #@$%! and  :--) Oo. difference.

Although I never had to adjust it on my previous 97... . so every truck is different.

Directions to adjust the gov. arm can be found in the technical section on www.piersdiesel.com

Well, yours is a 215 pumped truck and the 95 auto is a 160 pump truck. huge difference there.

I would do as previously suggested and take the AFC out of the equation and see what it does. Maybe the afc foot is not moving. If it still doesnt do it, try sliding the plate foward a little bit.

good luck.

95

well took the plate and slide it all the way forward, no gain!, slide afc housing all the way foward... no gain, checked the fule heater screen... no gain, slimmed the pump return pop off spring in the valve ... no change.

The truck will put out a little smoke in first, no smoke in secound, no smoke in 3rd...

boost is 20 in first, 24 in secound, 27 in 3rd... never goes any higher, we enve screwed in the set screw on the TST elbow... no increase... .

WHat is going one here???? :(
