As regards the particular claims of TST and the tension between such and the capabilities of the stock truck to support that much extra power, well, TST's silver bullet is that with EGT-based defueling you can realize the full output of the box for as long as EGTs remain safe -- and that depends on load, temperature, and elevation, not to mention variability among trucks.
I agree that, at the end of the day, you wont get much out of the stock truck (sustained power) with the TST box. we're all fooling ourselves if we think that duration magic will somehow cure the EGT problem. I just don't know of anyone who thoughtfully understands power modifications that hasn't already realized the air requirements of a 400 RWHP truck: exhaust, intake, and a bigger turbo. In that sense I don't understand the outcry. folks should know better.
