There are so many turbo's out there right now so I am so confused as to which one would be right for me. My truck is my daily driver so I cant get too wild with it but I do hook to a sled about 3-5 times in the summer and dont want to get embarassed. I want something I can run in the 2. 5 or 2. 6 and under classes. But I would like something that will spool up fairly well for daily driving. I have an Edge Juice, Hot Rod VP, 100hp injectors, 4 inch exhaust, and KandN intake right now. I just bought a stage 3 water/methanol kit and plan on running 150 hp injectors this summer for the pulls. Im also considering stacking a Smarty on if it would be worth it. Id like to push hp in the 550-600 range if I can. If anyone has any reccomendations for me or could tell me anything at all to help me pick one out let me know, thanks.

Industrial injection

sps62 would suit you great but 150 injectors will be too much, your 100's would be a perfect for it. would land you in the 525+ range. I would recommend this one with an auto transmission.

Silver 62 see my sig below. no bigger than this for a daily driver. I would reccomend this one with a manual transmission. This turbo likes rpms for airflow and the auto in OD isn't a good match for this turbo unless you have 4. 10 gears then go for it. I wish I would have gone sps62 with my setup but I am living with it.

OH yeah ditch the K&N and go with a better intake setup. You will also need an aftermarket exhaust manifold also. If running water meth go with the Silver 62 it will not let you down now that I read your sig I would still stick with the 100 range injectors. My 155's are too much for this turbo yet running with the hrvp44 and hot comp I can flood it out easily in hot temps.

start with the PS 62 /65 with the 14cm ex, you have water to cool things down on the top end if needed.

always better to go small on a daily driver cause you can always control topend heat with your foot and an eye on the pyro and, that way its not laggy/smoky putting around town

the PS is cheaper and you can always send it back to be upgraded to a SPS with the bigger 71 mm back wheel.

I had the PS and went to the SPS really without really bad heat issues, instead of adding water and now I hate driving it.

the 65 will spool faster, but choke up a bit on the higher RPM power range. The 71 series turbos light up about 100RPM later than a 65mm exhaust wheel. you can get 68mm exhaust wheels and split teh difference.

Be honest with how you use your truck. If you are at high altitude, tow, not drag racing, don't floor it all the time a 65mm will work better.

I didn't see head studs in your sig... you will want that or better, especially with water meth, + timing box + the HO have higher compression than SO motors.

I ran a Silver Bullet 66 with mach 4's and then Mach 6's and it spooled well with an II hrvp. No driveability isues whatsoever with either injector.

Htt 62/14

I havent had issues with egt's with my set up. with the 6 speed I try to keep the rpm's up 1800 to 2000 driving daily (town) I went from 100hp injectors to my mach 4's which they ran smoother and seem to be cooler. look at getting some studs and possibley rings in the future. my usual setting is TST on 6 and smarty on sw9 tq6 timing1 duration1 this is the best for my driving with out being to smokey.

Lmao I just blew my headgasket trying to test my water/methanol injection. It hit 42 psi and its blowing oil all over the front of the motor now. At least I know its workin lol. I definitely can tell ya that it does give ya a lot more power tho. I suppose a gasket and studs are on the way sooner than expected now. Still looking for that new turbo to keep up with the rest of my mods tho. what's the biggest I can run to stay in the 2. 6 turbo class and still be streetable too?

You will want to O-ring the head also now it will be a must running the meth setup. If you don't you will get really good at changing head gaskets. I will say go sps62 or silver 62 if you want to compete. Both have excellent street manners and are good for towing yet. Not sure of your location but In higher altitudes the silver 62 might be a real toad though.

sorry to hear about the gasket

if you go with a 62/14 you can later use this as a twin upgrade, but since your head is going to be off look into a cam, and springs also. the bombing bug bite never really goes away... ... ... :-laf
