Turbo bark happens when you accelerate real fast then let off real fast causing the volume of air to the turbo to change too quickly causing the bark. It is the best way to ruin the turbo I am told. I dont think I explained it to well but do a search on the subject and you will find a scientific explanation on this website.

When you mash the accellerator pedal real hard, from a stop, it causes a lot of fuel to burn fast, which creates a lot of exhaust, which in turn spins the turbo real fast, which causes high boost pressure to buildup in the intercooler and tubes and hoses. Then if you suddenly let your foot off of the pedal, all that built-up pressure has no place to go except BACKWARDS through the turbo. And it does, causing the turbo to have to suddenly stop and then spin backwards. This places excessive forces on the turbo shafts and bearings and has caused expensive failures.

Happens Wicked easy on a standard trans ram. One way to Help it ts to train yourself to lift slow ' n ' Row the shifter to the next appropriate gear (Unless You ARe rippin along having fun)

Pop off valve

Since the cummins does'nt have a butterfly at the intake how could a pop-off valve be put inline. You would need a signal of pressure change but there is no where to grab that from?

On a carb set up you get the the signal after the butterfly ( on a blow through) and the engine vacuum will suck the valve open to release the pressure so the butterflies don't get slammed with the turbo pressure. This is easier on the turbo and the carbs but how to add this to this system of the cummins?

I think I am rambling, too many beers at the car show tonight.

Good thing there is a spell check

:D
