I finally installed a set of stage III injectors. It really did make the truck 'get up' but now my e. t. are climbing under load. Pulling a 30' flatbed gooseneck loaded with 20,000lbs up a long grade with the Edge on stage one gave me my first taste of 950degrees post turbo. Lawrence at D. D. recommends a hybrid, Scheid recommends there new turbo. I still want the get up and go when empty. How about it HX40 guys, what's the lag like compared to by HX35 with larger housing? Thanks:p

Mojo, give me a call, or email me... I'd like to get together with you and talk trucks. I work at 3M in Cynthiana ! :D my email is: -- email address removed --

Check out www.piersdiesel.com for his new Hx40 that has near-zero lag. One of my friends, John_P, has it on his truck, he stopped by here and we went for a drive. Awesome !

www.transmissionspecialist.com also has some very slick hybrid turbos that nobody ever hears about... .

I will recommend Kwikkurt's B-1. I am running DD supermental injectors and have yet to see over 1050* (pre-turbo) since installing this turbo! Last Saturday did a dyno day with our local TDR chapter did 3 runs at 450+ HP and temps were still below 900* after the third run. This turbo lowered my max egt's by over 400* from a HX35. I know this turbo is a lot of $$ but I don't think it will come apart like the HX40 plus I can make in excess of 50lbs. of boost.

If you need a sweet Turbo

Piers is the frontrunner www.piersdiesel.com

I just installed his hybrid HX35 on my truck and its :D :D:D

Going from a HY35 to HX35-12 to HX35-14 Piers&reg is freakin unreal. :)

The street are wet but the will dry out and then its

Give Piers a call

I've driven like an idiot and gotten the same mileage. . so much better. . 15-16 so far at 2 tanks... just wait til i get the new clutch so I can really flog it;):p:D:D

Who can keep track of mileage with a truck this fun:D. OK really, I haven't noticed any real difference in mileage... . Although I haven't really done an exact mileage calculation since the install. My guess is that it has neither hurt nor helped my mileage. What it has done is increased my fun factor while decreasing my egt's! Where I used to keep my eyes on the egt gauge I now have to watch the boost gauge.

Doug -

Whats the highest boost you've seen so far out of curiosity? I guess I might have to ditch my 50 lb UltraLite, since the wastegate is blocked on our turbos.

Is it Friday yet? (when my turbo goes on if the exhaust is here)

Ya I know Jim gets alot of boost, hes also got alot of fuel... . but Doug (Jetpilot) will be closer to my fuel level, which is why I was curious what he makes. ;)

Kat,

The max I have seen is 54lbs. This was with the transmission locked in O. D. and up a very steep incline. Under normal conditions I usually see right at 50-52lbs at WOT. If you have any other questions just let me know.

DD III's right at the moment.

I am gonna borrow Floor It's BD V's for a couple of days too. Since my truck is my daily driver I gotta keep it drivable, so thats why John is being soooooooo kind to let me borrow his ;)

When I inquired about my exhaust, I was offered a deal on BD IV's, so i am gonna snatch them up as well, if I don't like them then I'll sell'em. I am hoping with the B1 and BD IV's to have 475 to 500 hp to the wheels. Would be nice to see my E/T come down as well... ...

Thanks for the reply, hopefully I won't have any other questions, and if I do I can answer them myself soon ;)

This will be interesting, I am going from pegging my EGT gauge, to pegging my boost gauge :D

Kat,

When you get the V's in please let me know what you think... . I am considering trying them but I am concerned over the stalling issue. I also wonder just how much more if any power I would see. I would like to get over 500 HP on #2 alone. I managed 452 HP last weekend with the Super mental injectors, so I need another 50HP to top 500.

Thanks,

Doug

B1 Turbo

Another local fellow has installed a B1 on his ETH and one of his comments was "i am getting a legitimate 250-300 decrease in egt".

Upon my first experience with the B1 I knew I had to add it to our line of products. Because it is the best single turbo I have seen or tested. It spools like a HX35 but produces more boost then a HY35, or any other turbo I've tested! And all this with a decrease in egt:)

Thanks for all the advice. Sorry I've been so long getting back. With this **** KY weather my cold is getting me down. What I need is some diesel fuel cold medicine. My nose has 40lbs of boost. Anyway I'm going to talk with Piers today. I'll be back. Hey Brian, I'll drop you an e-mail when I leave here. Thanks!!
