After pulling air duct from filter box and turbo charger , I noticed one of the blades on the fresh air side of the turbo had a different color than the rest. Upon closer inspection it looks like a gray coating or paint has chipped off and back from the leading edge about 1/8 of inch. It looks like bare metal has been exposed. Also there is no FOD damage on any of the blades including this one and this blade does not look like the rest as far as a smooth surface. Looks like a forging line or a bad casting at the same point that the paint starts.
Has anyone noticed this on there stock turbos, casting lines or bad finish work? Could this be a blancing blade if there is one. Should I take it to the dealer and ask for a new charger or is this normal, the truck has 4000 miles and only one tow. I guess I better replace the K&N filter with the stock stuff before going off to the man. Thanks Joe Setina
