Toyota's new diesel

Jeep Liberty

Ok, this is my first post here, so please don't flame me for not owning a real diesel ;)
Anyway, I have a POS Buick Regal with a 4. 3L V-6 diesel engine. The car's in rough shape (181,000 miles) but the diesel engine is in good shape. Any ideas on what kind/size of turbo would work with this size of engine? I plan on fabricating a custom exhaust manifold and intake crossover. I don't want tons of boost, just trying to shove some more air through it in an attempt to make it more efficient. And if I blow it up, it was cheap and I have 2 spare engines.

Keep her stock

I wouldn't put a turbo on it. Both the cast and aluminum heads that were used on those engines have a bad habit of cracking in between the valves as it is. The rocker arms aren't made that great either. Easy to crack/break in half, if you don't watch it during installation.

If you haven't done a headgasket job in those diesel cars, it is a real PITA. No one could pay enough to do that again. If I were a drinkin' man, I would consider it a 2 keg job (per person doing the job) working on it.

A guy I worked for during college had 2 Chevy Celebrities and 1 Pontiac 6000 with the 4. 3L V-6 diesel.

2 w/ cast heads, 1 w/aluminum heads. ALL 3 had cracked heads.
