I am looking for a turbo for my 2003 SO CA Model truck. I want something that will bolt right up and be able to handle 400-450 hp. I don't know if one oeven exists. Thanks

Buy the Diesel Dynamics Ball Bearing turbo and let us all know how it worked out for you :D

I'm just waiting for someone to write up a positive review on the thing so I can justify plunking down the dough. I think there's a lot of us waiting... .

Take a look at the BD super "b" turbo. Its good for about 425 ponies, and it bolts in with really no modification, just a little turbo clocking. Which with a 13mm ratchet wrench is farely easy. I have been happy about the results I have seen with it. Give Kyle a call at extreme diesel performance, a great guy to work with.

I thought the Super B is smaller than the stock turbo on the new 05s?

bd super b is on my 04. 0. it really wakes up the TST.

minor mod is necessary. you have to grind off a little of the motor mount and i had to take about 1-1/2" out of my exhaust system, which was relatively easy. i just cut out a piece in front of the muffler and put a coupler back on.

i am happy so far.

B1-2-04 would be a good turbo for you. It is a "Direct" bolt on, much easier than a HTB2! It may cost a little more, but is a very good turbo. Some are running 500+ with it. I have been running one with just an EZ, and it spools just as fast as the stock turbo. :D

From what I have read, the Super B is not much of an improvement over the stock turbo.

go for the HT B2. Straight up bolt on, great spool up, good to 500 hp

One thing I noticed is this turbo is ungradable all the way to the Sledpuller 66 - I like that I can kinda "Grow" with the HTT line of turbos

(though I have yet to bite the bullet and get one :( )

I'm picking my truck up today with a new TAD B1-04 installed. It is a direct bolt on and everyone I tlaked to prior to purchase said they are great. I'll find out today. Also put the ATS manifold on as well as a 4" downpipe from an 05 truck. Should be fun driving it home with just the downpipe, ala Tomeygun if I'm not mistaken!!

I think you are right on the 05 but EAMan has an 03 CA motor.

What my thought was : Why would I get a turbo for an 03 that is smaller than what the 05s have stock if the 05 turbo is only handling 325 h. p.

The OEM is smaller on the turbine wheel and turbine housing.

The Super B's compressor wheel is smaller by about 4mm than the stock 05 turbo.

I have the HTB2 on my CA SO. I love it. Super easy to put in. Did it by my self in about 3 hours. If you do it get the down tube. Helped a ton. Plus they have great customer service. Downside, I finally towed with it the other day (9,000lbs RV) and didn't care for my temps running down the freeway on level ground. EZ on 1 and TST 2/1 temps where 900º+. Thought that was a tick high for level ground at 70mph. Upside. EZ on 1 and TST on 7/7 taking off down the street would spin the tires into white smoke (and they're 35"s). Black smoke poured. Kinda fun, but once I got up on the freeway everything was turned down for the long haul. Overall... 2 thumb up!
