Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) turbo housing

would a 16cm non wastegated housing be an improvement to a 01 H. O. 6speed?someone asked me and I'm more of a 12v guy to know if it would be worth while or not.

A larger housing will help cool EGT's at WOT but will run hotter all the rest of the time. Will also increase spool-up time.

Why would egt's be higher other than WOT? That has not been my experience with my 12 valve truck. I am thinking abouit going with a 14 or 16cm/2 housing on my 01. 5 HO as well.

With a larger housing, you get less boost when cruising. This means higher EGT.



But when you floor it or pull a grade, the tight housing is too restrictive and you actually get HIGHER EGTs, even if you have more boost.
