From other threads, I gather it's ECM-imposed torque management rather than just spool-up-time turbo lag. Much debate here and elsewhere re whether and how it can be minimized/avoided. Some say a throttle sensitivity booster definitely fixes it, others say it definitely doesn't, some say it just improves it a bit. I gather (my truck not here yet) it's worst if you power-on, then back off, then power-on again. If so, I guess the message is He Who Hesitates Is Lost! Tramp it and (fingers crossed) go!

Seems like the correct response is can it be changed? : Yes there are throttle foolers and the TS stryker that will help

Should you try to fix it: No

Fair call. From what others say, it's the ECM managing soot as well as torque. My overall point remains though: it's deliberate engine management by Dodge, not just mechanical turbo lag.
Correct you are; apparently there's the potential for more soot production at takeoff and the ECM is indeed managing it. Since I have a trailer hooked to my truck a large percentage of time, I'm not trying to be Speedy Gonzales :-laf when entering traffic flow.

I was under the impression this issue was related to trucks equipped with the aisin trans. My new truck has the 68 trans and it does this annoying lag every so often.

Thanks for the input. I guess it is just made that way. As stated above when my trl is behind it is not noticable.

I have the same problem but what really confuses me is that not all of our 14's have the lag. And after 3,000 miles mine has proven to be inconsistent. Most of the time it's there but I do notice that when I am towing or taking off on a steep hill, it is not as noticeable. And then sometimes, it's not there at all. Also, sometimes I have what feels like slow spool up in mid range when I go to pass someone or just increase speed. It ain't consistent. So maybe the other matching truck I drove at the dealership has the problem and just did not act up when I drove it. Wrong color truck dang it! But it is annoying.

I just discovered that I also have some type of anti roll back or hill holder on the truck when I back down a steep driveway. At least after I put it in park and e-brake mode for the night. The next morning I was expecting roll back and having to place my left foot on the pedal and no roll. Pretty neat. And no lag coming off that mode.
