Guess what I did??

I have been running my pm3 on kill all week. I did not have the boost elbow installed in turbo because I was looking for the little rubber tube that goes to the wastegate. ( I had removed it when I took the box off, and just plugged the port on the turbo).

Well I have been seeing boost pressures up to 45 psi. Today, the truck felt a little slower. I figured I better re-install the boost elbow. When i removed the turbo air intake tube, things didn't look right. The turbo feels tight for to aft , but rotationally, it is really tight. I had to force it more than usual to get it to spin.

I started truck up with intake hose off. It does spin. When I shut it down, the turbo stops immediately (in the time i can run around the hood and look). It has always been spinning down when I check it. :(

Is it going out??!

Which turbo shall i consider, piers 35 or his 40.

sounds very bad, on the other hand Piers HX40 is on sale til the end of the month.

Pier HX40 will add another 24HP :)

If it SPLODES on you things could get ugly, up to and including the 'ol blown engine if it runs away on the oil!!!!!!!!!

Get that turbo off, buy a new one.

update!

Well, I got the boost elbow in, Now it only goes to 33lbs, occasionally, 34 for a second. This is with the pm3 on level 9 (kill).

Hope it holds for now, I have spent 2,500 in mods in the past 30 days. PDR HX40 has to wait til after Christmas.

Doesn't the TST boost elbow allow up to 39-40 lbs boost these days? The old one from before did.

Without the elbow the puppy was barking on every full throttle gear shiftt!

i think u answered your own qustion right here. turbo bark is really bad for it. being that the box was on kill, didn't help it either.

I don't know if I would wait until after Christmas. I just don't like the thought of it failing and taking a chance that some metal parts might blow into the motor.

I'd look of a used HX35 to use for the time being. I'm sure there should be plenty to find.

my 2 cents. .
