Someone always has to goi against the norm. I guss your it this time around.
The 21 housing had something to do with saving the (automatic) transmission. If you hammer on the throttle, there is quite a load implied. If you do that with a big turbo, the fuel may go in but there is little power due to the lack of O2 at that time. If... if the AFC system is working on your truck's injection pump, the fuel is also limited at low boost (emission purposes). In stock form, the trucks don't go anywhere fast.
I like the 21 cuz I'm not drag racing anyone. It has a lot of lag and is doggy if you mash the peddle. I'm not worried about buring up the transmission drag racing other vehicles from stop light to stop light.
The 21 housing also (probably) allows me to make a tad more smoke at low boost for a tad bit longer than a 14.
I don't need a quick spool cuz I ain't driving a manual transmission where I have to build boost all over again with each and every shift. When I see 15 psi it's already on it's way, heading to 30 etc. etc.
