turn signal light malfunction

I get an intermittent "light out" warning and the rear left turn signal bulb is not functioning, but then it will start working again. I suspect the Power strip. how hard are those strips to replace and is the OEM one worth over twice what the Dorman one costs. And thanks for the weight or load question response.

On my 04 it takes about 15 minutes. Two torx behind the tailgate, pull rearward on the light assy till it pops out. Pull the plug off the assy. Be sure the red lock tab is pulled. Four phillips screws and the strip comes out.
