Turnball system

[DUBSTER]

I want to know if anyone has any trouble with the Turnball system. I am looking at getting a 5er this year and will be towing a goose neck as well. Turnball looks like the item I Want. The 5er GVW I'm looking at is alittle over 13K.
I know I want the best of both worlds. Gooseneck and 5th wheel.

The guy I work with is getting one of the new Duramaxs and I would like to show him how a REAL truck would pull his 15K trailer.

I purchased the B&W turnover hitch and also the Companion 5th wheel hitch. This allows you to remove the 5th wheel hitch (two pieces,easily done) and insert the ball hitch for the goose neck. This can be done in about 5 min or less. The hitch is rated a 30,000#.

I also have B&W Turnoverball system. The gooseneck hitch is rated at 30K. I also purchased the Companion 5th Wheel Hitch, which is rated at 18K. I haven't used the 5th wheel hitch yet, still looking for the right 5ver. The B&W system is well built.

I can vouch for the B&W also. This is the second one that I've had and I really like them. Well built, well thought out.

The worst part of the install was cutting the hole in the bed of the pickup. Good instructions and everything fit with no problem. I dropped the spare tire as some one on the TDR or irv2 suggested. This gives you some room to manuver. Gave it its first tow today. No problem. Except 10 tons of cow dung from a cattle drive down the hwy. #ad
: I would like to know the torke(sp) for the U bolts.

The install went pretty good. We had to unbolt the bed in order to get everything in place and all the bolts started. Of course the drivers side where the fuel tank in was a real bear to deal with. Having my son on hand would have made things much easier. Big hands in a small space don't work to well.

We plan on checking the torque on all the bolts after he pulls his gooseneck a few times.
As far as the truck. It seems to have allot of power. Of course I want to get this hitch system so I can set it on my truck and see how far she sets my 2500 down. The trailer he pulls sets the truck on the overloads (3500). I rode in the truck down the roar empty and it felt like I was setting on my easy chair at home and not in a one ton truck. My truck lets you know that you are in a truck with the ride and the "sound of Power".
When I get the hitch I will let you know. My son and I will probally put it in on a Saturday afternoon.

If the dodge is the same as the chevy than all they want you to do is have a 1/4 inch of threads sticking out of the nut. I will double check with my buddy and make sure.
Sorry to hear about the "green Wash" on the underside of you truck and 5er.
My only suggestion is to wash them over a spot in the yard that isn't growing to well.

Dubster. The U bolts which are used for the safety chains have the 1/4 inch thread showing but the other U bolts (2) bolt onto the receiver tube. I e-mailed the distributer but havent received a reply. I torqued them to about 60 but do not want to over torque and weaken them.
Hey! Had to go slow on curves where it was painted green #ad
: didnt want to explain to insurance company how I lost control on a curve lined with processed hay.

The tourque on the U-bolts is 40lbs! Per the distributer.
