TWest - Thanks for putting up the link. Anyone want one let me know.

Geez... sorry dude.

The business Banks has lost due to the amount of visiblity this has gotten has surely cost them more than $12k.

Banks:

Write this guy a check, have him sign a non-disclosure saying he'll never say a word about your "accepting liability", and do your best to recover (your karma) and move on.

Matt - I emailed you, send me a sticker

Matt:

Please send me two (2) of those Calvin/Banks stickers! I will P. M.

you my address and pay any shipping!! They are great!!! :-laf

i sorry to hear about your truck i am glad however you posted it because you definetly changed my min dforever i am very happy with the juice/attitude and edge's customer service is just impeccable. i wish more companies would be like that because this would have never happened to no 8. banks would have saved themselves a whole lot of trouble if they would have stood behind their product. does everything in the world have to be about money? :)

TheThe funny part is I never asked for $12k. I asked for $8503 for the motor and $995 to ship it home from IL to CA. This price was a written quote from the dealer it was at to put it back to stock. Since I was 2,000 miles away from home, I thought they should pay for shipping. I spent $12k to build the motor and trans. I don't think they should pay for that. Just enough to put it back to stock. The day I get I get a check for $9489 with Gale Banks sig on the bottom I swear I'll never mention this situation again. I'll stop sending out stickers, stop with the whole www.wespankbanks.com stuff. Everything. Until then, I'll keep telling my story. I know of at least 3 people that have returned unopened power packs, worth about $3600. That right there is $10,800 and this was just from '04. So I figure in about 10 years of me telling my story, that's $108,000. I could just go away fo $9,489.

What about the three truck payments of $720 a month I paid while it was gone, insurance, 3 extra days of food, 3 days missed work, new $36,000 '04 3500 CTD I bought to get the 12,000lbs. home. (no rental would tow that much). How about the couple thousand in fees I had to pay to take a second out on my house to get it paid for. I don't want it. I want the cost of the new motor and the shipping.

i agree with you 100 percent i meant that from banks perspective a multi million dollar company who won't stand behind the product don't you think they would like to do r&d and find out what went wrong real companies do this. i don't blame you one bit and i am forever glad i read this article because i am very new to the diesel world and without this website i don't have anyone to ask questions and get real answers. :)

I put banks system on my 93 years ago. payed big bucksback then. I had it dynoed and it was not even close to their clamed hp or tq. Stock advertized 160 hp 400 ft lbs tq. Banks claim- 235 hp-611 tq. dyno figure were VERY close to stock numbers. called banks and was told it was the dyno. that all dynos read different. That much different?? I think not!!will never buy another banks product

If banks would pay matt, I would take the pee on banks sticker off my rear window.

Wait, no I wont! It is to much fun with all the comments I get from it!!!

I was around DTW when all this happened to him. I believe him. I have personally emailed Banks about it a while back, no response.

I just watched the Extreme 4x4 on Spike. Pretty cool. I heard Banks will be selling the whole performance package with KORE suspension turn-key? Is that true? Just curious. If I wasn't putting air ride on my truck I would be putting KORE on my truck :)

Yeah, for "$60,000"!

:--)

What about those 20's?

What about those 20's on Extreme 4x4? With the truck getting the full KORE treatment I was miffed their special hubcentric correct offset 18's where passed over in favor of 20's.

Don't get me wrong. . I like the look, but it seems they set aside offset, hubcentric and diameter functionality for cool looks.

I was thinking the same thing Matt. Clearly the offset wasn't ideal on those 20s, hence the beefy flares.

20" wheels are becoming popular, there's quite a few more mud and off-terrain tires available in 35-37, so KORE may want to consider having 20" Welds done in the proper offset.

I thought the show was a nice representation of KORE otherwise though. It was quite a change to the SuperDuty they put a suspension and lift on and were running off jumps. . . the landings were really HARD.

I thought the exhaust was too quiet on the truck. Also did you notice what sounded like the turbo barking on the first shot out in the field?

Hey Vaughn,

That would be great. I would be all over those because I know a 34", E rated, 11" wide, 3750 lb tire that would go right on an 8" wide 20. An inch taller than I would like but very doable with no lift.

The thing I liked about the Banks kit sa shown yesterday was the use of the Palm to monitor engine parameters and modify the system. This would seem to be much better than the new attitude controllers.

Yeah, I am surprised those 20"s did not fall off when they were flogging the truck in the field, everyone knows that if you use wheels that are not hubcentric that can happen :-laf :-laf

You were disappointed that the thread was closed? Imagine how I felt sitting at LV racetrack, gate 2 at 2 in the morning for a few hours waiting for Mr. no-show supra too. . yeah, we wanted to see the race go off. thanks for the kind PM too, glad you liked the interaction.
