I haven't heard much media coverage in recent months regarding plans to rebuild the WTC complex other than the disappointing "Freedom Tower" plans that were unveiled a while back. I have been wondering if there were any more developments or how likely this design would be implemented.
Then I was listening to Glenn Beck the other morning and the subject was the Trade Center and he was urging listeners to check out www.makenynyagain.com . . . so I went there and was very pleased at what I found. Go take a look. Apparently the "Freedom Tower" idea has been lukewarm at best and interest groups are pushing for something much closer to the original which would be far more useful (110 stories with an ACRE of floor space each, not a pathetic 72 with a few hundred square feet at the top) and stand in bold defiance of Bin Laden. IMO the Twin Towers were unique in that they had far more floor space at statospheric levels than any other skyscraper in the world, and the only right thing to do is restore this unique aspect.
Check it out, read the commentary, and check out the media links.
