Competition Sidewinder Type-D, 8.22 @ 164 MPH

Off Roading Need CJ5 Carb

With 90hp DDP injectors, a 62-14 is a perfect match for towing or racing. . My truck is running low 12's at 110 mph with this setup and a completely stock CP3. . Diesel only...

Yep. . When it cut a 1. 76 60', it did a 12. 33 at 99 mph because the speed limiter mixed with a 28'' tire didn't give me much mph. . I wasn't aware the Smarty could recalibrate for tire size at that time. . At the TS race, the track was too slick for me to hook (2wd). . With the speedometer calibrated, it did a 2. 0 60', and a 12. 47 at 110 mph. . That was the best pass. . It also did a 2. 35 60', 13. 1 at 110. 9 mph. . That simple combo just works very well. .

you throw towing in the mix, I gotta give the vote for twins

I would like to get twins but they are out of the budget for now. I was thinking of getting a Silver Bullet first and the adding another turbo later. I don't tow with this truck very often ,but when I do I don't want to have alot of problems.

the silver bullet is awesome, but you're going to have to keep it wound up pretty tight to tow with it... you might consider a silver 62 and then using it on top of a set of twins later

After talking to II, and HTT I fell pretty confident that having a 6 spd will help with surging issues... I dont tow often, maybe once amonth about 300 miles or so with about 16,000 lbs... I will be buying the silverbullet soon, and II has a new mod that they do to the turbo to help with surging issues. . I will let yall know how it does...

On my racer our origonal plans were for a super badazz twin combination, but after some exciting new developments happening at the ever busy INDUSTRIAL INJECTION, Shane, Brady and I decided to try out this new SUPER BAD AZZ :eek:Single -that the Gods at II have just put the finishing touches on.

We are expecting some very exciting results!!!!! Look out 7'sOo. Oo. Oo.

That is one big single Wes has there for sure!

Just did an upgrade to a Silver Bullet after running my SPS 66 for 2. 5 years, we'll see how that works out.

Shane and I were discussing that same turbo about a month ago. But I told him I would have to refrain for a little bit. Besides according to the rules for our local Diesel race assoc (ODRA); I'm steel legal for Hot Street class since I'm running a a single turbo not larger than a 2. 8" inducer.

But, I might be doing a bit of testing on it :D He said somebody with a racer was interested in one. But they wanted to do some 5K RPM testing. I told him, I'm game for it.

The pics of that charger are BADDDDD!!!!!

Ok, I get it now, the difference between the Bullet and the non-Bullet... ... dang that thing comes up quick!

Can't wait to get more miles on it and do some real hard core testing.

Do not confuse boost pressure with lbs/min of air. My SPS 62/K31 combo makes 64psi of boost at 500 hp. My SPS/B2+ makes 670 at 63psi. Much more air, 1psi less boost. Same 32psi on primaries. The only air you actually get to the motor is what the primary is putting out. The top charger helps get the bottom going, and then basicly gets in the way.

Ron,

So since the top charger just gets in the way once the bottom is going, would it make sense to open the external wastegate up all the way once the bottom is flowing good to reduce the restriction? I'm talking in a truck pulling application. I imagine if I did this, the overall boost would drop but the amount of air getting to the engine would increase? (more air would be provided by the primary charger?

Or does the compressor of the secondary become the restriction?

Thought I would bring this back to the top with the recent talk about the DHRA's Super Street class now ditching the twins and becoming a single charger only class with a inducer limit of 3" and no bushing alowed! Still havn't heard if anything is writen in stone yet but its making me more than a little interested. Running a decient set of twins right now... HTT SledPuller 66/Super4C and am thinking of dropping down to a single for this season... just have to find something that suite's my needs..... Idea's?
