I did a search and really didn't find the answers I wanted. who is running twins, what are the options for twins, what price range are they

I am runnig an 03 with power pup stacked with a dr. P (until I get the ramifier replaced) complete dtt transmission and an afe mega cannon with a 4 inch lift and 315's let me know what you KNOW. I have plenty of smoke but want to clean it up. KEEP IN MIND Injectors to come later so I need something big enough to last but not huge (I still pull 30k with this truck)

please give opnions but no flaming

Thanks

Daniel

from what I have seen and heard the piers twins work well on auto trans trucks. loose to much boost when shifting on manuals.

that's with just about any manual truck. And the boost on the twins recovers very fast between gears. Just because the boost pressure is low does not been the turbo's aren't still spooled up

PDR towing twins work just fine on my 5sp. Best combination of turbo or turbo's I have tried to date.

I was refering to the common rail engine. talking to a well known and respected guy 2 days ago ,and he was telling me about the turbos they have tried on his truck. I asked what worked well, " nothing" I am ruunning piers twins now and what I have said followed. which is what I have seen myself. now I will say this in 5th and 6th it flys. and will let you put the fuel to it, equalling sustainable hp ,big hp. oh yeah the guy was mark from tst. Oo. call him and ask yourself. or spend the big money and find out what I have. I would wait for one of the singles coming soon.

I think the stock charger with a ht3b is the most usable. The hx40 is too laggy. You can control boost with an external wastegate and you can control the spool up by running different size housings on the ht3b. If you have a lot of fuel you will want the 26 housing.

We are getting ready to build a set with the stock 600 charger on top, but the old hy9 spools like mad!

I don't sell twins, but I have tried a lot of combos, if you need any help pm me.

I actually talk to Mark quite a bit. He told me his spool up was slow in second gear but anything from 3rd and above was good. The reason second is hard to spool is because most boxes wait for boost to come up before fueling, not all of them though. ;) As for losing boost between gears well yeah, I guess you would. On a stick truck you take your foot out of the throttle to shift gears, hence a boost loss. On an auto you keep yur foot planted. And yes I have a bit of experience with twins on a common rail 6 speed truck. ;) I do kknow part of what you said was right about Mark. He feels the PDR twins for the 3rd gens should have smaller turbine housings on the small turbo to spool faster

i run the 40-16 ht3b-26 combo and it is laggy around 5000 ft elevation, however, you need mad fuel to get them rolling quickly, the 35-14 and ht3b-26 would be a great choice if you plan on towing and mild racing, i made 430 plus wheel hp at bully dog underneath 37'' tires and only 11000 psi of rail pressure at 42psi of boost ,and 480 plus at 63 psi, i would recommend the 35 as the top turbo, unless you want to blow a lot of smoke to get them to spool as fast as the stocker, if you dont want to spend a lot of money, try the killer b 64, the sled puller 66, or the fat shaft 66 with 14 housings, they seem to spool pretty well and make big power also, i am sure my truck would make well over 540 plus but i am having a rail pressure issue at this time, but the twins will definitely run cooler than a single... hope this helps and good luck... ... .

Craig is loving his twins. They seem to work extremely well. His EGTs are never an issue. spool-up is instantaneous. His twins are the prototypes so there are a few minor fit issues but functionally they are perfect. We used his to perfect the production pieces.

His TDR suscription lapsed a while back or he'd respond himself.

If you'd like to talk to him, call me and I put you in touch.

I have the twins on a truck now myself, thus my experiance. no I am not trying to say don't buy them, just that I would not again. they work good but for the money I want better. I might sell my set and get with mark k. and see what he has to offer. I think what your(he is) saying about the housing is right.

Artic Air Twin Turbos are the answer

I am currently in the process of installing Relentless Diesels Artic Air twin turbo kit. I have found that they are the best for the performance and the money spent. The twin kit has been rigorously tested and has produced 12. 23 et's @ 110 mph and did this while maintaining very respectable 1300 degree egt's :--) all this on a 03 auto truck. The spool up is on par with the stock turbo if not faster. The best part of the kit is that it does not defuel like other twin kits seem to do on the 1-2 shift. Last but not least is the price, the entire kit can be purchased for only $2895. 00, that is a good $1000. 00 cheaper than the next guy. The proof is on video, they have video from Indianapolis with Jason Reads 03 decimating the nearest competitor by at least a 1/2 second. The videos and web page for the twins can be seen at Relentless Diesel's Website or you can contact Chris Strickland directly at 936-856-3121.

The small turbo is the stock turbo that comes with the truck and the large turbo is a 3b. Boost pressures are under 60 psi and the small turbo works extremely well. I am friends with the guy who owns the test truck and they have performed flawlessly for over 8 months now.

Sounds like Mark kendrick's system

But save some coin

The common rail motors do not produce enough fuel to run a hx40 up top. So the relentless twins use your factory turbo . It saves on cost and its all we really need.
