Competition Fulmers on the move!

hey jim how do they compare to the b1 steroid and big brother. i have ben told that that b1steroid and big brother will make 110pis of cool boost. but i would love to know how many lbs/min they will move and at what temp. how fast will they spool. and how hard do they come on. another ? what size waste gate should i use i was sold a tial 38mm was told to use a 44mm but the tial 46mm looks like it will take a lot of heat. any suggestions.

Here's a little run down for you! The 66 looks to work great in a twin configuration, but the 62 and 64 will also. They are matching the turbo's to a bottom turbo, meaning they are actually matching maps. This is something that most don't do... . even me. They are matching the 66 to a turbo that is a little bigger than the Big Brother for initial testing. The 66's wastegate should get rid of allot of air as the wheel eats allot of air too. If you get to the point were you have to add an additional gate from the manifold to the hot pipe then you will more than likely have to add another gate from the hot pipe to exhaust just to get rid of air... ..... I'm not there yet! There is nothing wrong with my old setup, I just need a bigger charger on top and had been looking for the past year on what to do, B-1 or HX-52 then Brady got the Phat Shafts going. It will will take some time but I should have some good data in the not so distant future.

not just looking for size but a combo that will work well. nice cool boost and a lot of volume not pressure. just don't know who to trust. doing some research this time around and i would like to come up with numbers that support the turbos out put in lbs/min not psi. not some one saying these are what you want did that last time and got burnt. some one that will stick behind there set up and back up what they say. i bought the wrong second stage turbo, a so called big brother and waste gate that is to small taking someones word for it. i want to make an educated decision this time. so where are all the twin gurus with all the info that can help me.

You can marry them, as long as they are not in the same family(against the law) if they mate, you run increased chances of defects :-laf :-laf

So if I read this correctly, you bought the truck finished and did the motor work Otto??

I have a 36 in the back yard and wanted to know who/how/what you have done for the windshield frame... .

Hey, sorry in advance, i dont want to hijack this thread, but do you guys have any idea what a 36 is worth, i have one in the garage would like to unload. body is in very good shape, but everything else i. e. frame and drive train, may as well be pushed into the river.

talking to a couple of shops thinking of phat shaft 66 or ot something a little bigger for the small turbo and the next jump up from the big brother. what do you guy think.

ED

Ed,

Hopefully i will have a SPS66 here at the shop soon for testing. Give me a call and I can give you a report on how it compares to the steroid B-1.

:) Doug, if you have time do a drive pressure test on both! That deal we were talking about the other day should be in work shortly as it's being built now. BTW, I found out why my power was so low :)

Ed, it was good talking about power stuff with you, keep my number even if you just want to bounce ideas.

So low!!!!! :D you make us sick :D

Evil Otto... Just read this article and would like to make a suggestion. Before you purchase anything, give J. R. Adkins a call. He has some of the toughest tubo's out on the market today. I promise you he has a set-up for you and his turbo's will hold up to your boost level. His 4C turbo that runs in some of his twin setup's have seen 60psi for the bottom charger and hasn't missed a lick yet. The 4C is comparible to the big brother. He has a turbo bigger than that, that you may want to run for your bottom charger. You won't find a friendlier guy to deal with. Talk to him, he will steer you in the right direction, you have my word. The number is below in my sig.

Is the air hot enough to burn off powder coating! Slow it down ad I bet it will work better... ... just a thought!

The 4C is a good turbo without a doubt as some have just used the 4C wheel in another turbo!

How about a 60W! I saw one on a Tractor the other day..... hum... HX-60W, not bad for a smaller setup!

Jim

It's not getting as hot as some people think, but I won't get into that debate. The HX-60 is to small for this setup. The 60 is a good turbo, but not as good as the 4C. There's several different wheels for the 4, just depends on what kind of performance your looking for.
