Evil Otto... Just read this article and would like to make a suggestion. Before you purchase anything, give J. R. Adkins a call. He has some of the toughest tubo's out on the market today. I promise you he has a set-up for you and his turbo's will hold up to your boost level. His 4C turbo that runs in some of his twin setup's have seen 60psi for the bottom charger and hasn't missed a lick yet. The 4C is comparible to the big brother. He has a turbo bigger than that, that you may want to run for your bottom charger. You won't find a friendlier guy to deal with. Talk to him, he will steer you in the right direction, you have my word. The number is below in my sig.

I pray for you diesel freak doesn't see this post

Ed there are several things going on here.

First,

Your manifold turbo is to small. The compressor wheel is to small for the low pressure (volume) to flow through it at high Rpm. The exhaust wheel and housing are also to small for HIGH rpm power. (3 to 4 rpm+)

Second,

For high RPM power you need to dump your wastegate to atomsphere. (after the low pressure turbo) And keep that Large housing on your low pressure stage. You need it to keep that thing slowed down.

Just some thoughts..... I did not read the whole thread.

I try to keep my Ht4c's to LESS than 40 psi. (not sure what you are running)

I BET i can knock off atleast one full second from your quarter mile time.

Bingo..... we have a winner! I remember back in the fall of 03' when I was getting ready to build the new Twins this turbo was no were around. It would have been easier to mount that's for sure.

Hey Ed I remember this truck from a couple years ago. Didnt it have three turbos on it?

Maybe before you got it. . Or a totally differant truck.

Lance

let me give you guys some info on what i will be doing with the truck. in june if all goes right and the truck makes it back together. i will be going on the HOT ROD POWER TOUR for the long haul. i also want to run in it in the pump gass nationals that is a very long slow cruse to weed out all of the race cars that can not be consider street cars. if you can not restart the car after sitting 30 mins with out lifting the hood your out. this is a invite only event and hope to get one on the power tour. i drive the truck and it will have a big nos system on it so the turbos need to be able to take a lot of abuse. and if you know me you do know i can brake some parts. some times just because i want to see what happens. so the truck will be well seen and with out a dought bring a lot of attn to the diesel sports. so i need some real good feed back and test results on what will make the most power.

Ed

That sounds like allot of fun... If you ever have one of them days were you press the NOS and it put the fire out dont try and re-start that rig... . :--)

Sweet I remeber it I thought it was the coolest thing then and even cooler knowing you made it here to get some questions and help to make it go. .

I think what your are shooting for is very possible. With that said, wouldn't it be cool if you could pull off a win!!!

Do you have an idea of what your final weight will be?

Jonathan

3400# to 3500# if i put it on a diet take off some of the steel replace it with carbon fiber or fiber glass proably get it down to 3200 or less.
