Well I guess its time for a new transmission, I twisted my input shaft to pieces last night pulling a load of Horses in from Texas.

Any recommendations, and help picking a new transmission will be appercated. I figue I need the Billet shaft but not sure what converter I want to go with, also should I refresh the rest off the trans and with what componets.

The trans shop says it has no debris in the pan but the pump is gone & part of the shaft is stuck in the torque converter.

I pull real heavy loads and need a trans that can handle up to 30,000 gross, I'am usually pulling 26,000 gross every day.

Triple Disk converter or single disk, I have been happy with my ATS trans, but the converter is so tight that it barks the turbo if I step into it past half pedal.

Thanks,TJ

auto trans posts are very touchy on here. my suggestion is to do a search and educate yourself on the different trans builders. that is what i did and that is why i bought the trans that i did. also it helps to ride in a truck equiped with the trans you are interested in. i would have the entire trans reuilt while you are in there. do it once and do it right. good luck

There was a consensus thread the other day and it sounded like people approved of suncoast, DTT, and ATS. Most seemed to go with whatever they had locally.

Go to Dtt's site dieseltrans.com and read bill's write-up on building a transmission the right way so you don't run into problems down the road. I called and spoke with several transmission companies and was most impressed with DTT. Best mod I did by far and plan on having this truck for a long time :D

Dave Goerend of Georend Brothers Transmission. Fantastic guy, Fantastic Product, Fantastic customer service all for a fantastic price. I put a call in to him on December 23rd in the evening and the guy called me back on saturday xmas eve. I even had built my own transmission. Aquaintenance of mine was having problems with his D**(don't know why he wouldn't call his installer or manufacturer) and Dave even told me to have have the guy call Dave if he needed any help rebuilding the transmission.

It sounds like you need to shop for a medium duty hauler like a Freightliner. Those are some heavy loads you are pulling.

Barking, Woofing the Turbo, orTurbo lag, it will even blow the inter-cooler boots off if your not carefull while pouring the coal to it.

I do have the Banks silicone boots & clamps now so it isnt a problem anymore. , Sense the new boot install Ive only blown one off and it was because it was not tight enough, my fault. Turbo still Barks though T/C is to tight. Or it was to tight
