May madness

fixed on the road

Anyone up for a burnout contest? I am gathering information and sponsors now. Looks like a trophy to the person that can burnout (roll smoke) the furthest distance! Ye, after the drag races on Sunday, we will clear the track for distance burnouts. Details to come.....

How does it work?

Let's say a truck weighs 5800#... . is there a minimum weight? I saw folks adding weight last year (not off the front of the truck... )... but maybe that was just so they could run in the 7k and 8k class... . ?

Other than that it's 26" max hitch height and 3" I. D. loop... . and pretty much run what you brung after that... .

Matt

Matt,

Lay off the booze, you know the answer to the weight question, dig deep, it is in there behind those fried brain cells, lingering... ... :D

2 nights of hellraising, one day of sled pulling, one day of drag racing.

Do you REALLY expect anybody to be running at the end for a burnout contest?:{

Hey Dave or Eric. What time are the Dyno runs going to start on sunday? I will be out for saturday but may have to leave before I get my second shot at the dyno. I am number two on the list because I didn't get torque #'s at KY. I hope they start early! Thanks Dan

I'll take some details on this... .

Details

Rolling burnout contest. Each driver can utilize their brakes to the 60' light and then just pure hp. We will have some folks marking the distances and the person with the longest burnout wins $100 from DPM and a 4' trophy presented by Garmon's Diesel Performance.

Do one wheel burnouts count? My limited-slip is more limited to to slip than hold.

If they do I'm in! Hey Rob, at least I have two wheels spinning LOL! Welcome to the peg leg club LMAO!

Glenn,

I've been looking at it this way... ... ... ... I'll just have to buy one tire at a time now, not in pairs. :D

EEK!

with my Limited slip working very good,, looks like I'll have aalot of competition trying to spin 4 tires past the 60'.

Can we have rules comensating the fact that you can spin one tire alot easier and farther than four tires ?

Merrick Cummings Jr

I have nothing against Garmon performace but couldn't ya get a big tire co like badyear to pony up a certificate for a (1) new tire:D

Craig

P. S. I think this is going to be alota fun to watch!!

Why, is $100 and a 4' trophy not enough for you?

Rob, you can start in the staging lanes for it matters, it's how far down the track you get that counts, lol.

What if some sneaky SOB has a switch to shut off his brake lights after the 60' mark?

How about if 'officials' ride along and verify that nobody is driving with two feet or has some sort of fancy hydraulic device (line lock) to magically engage the front brakes just a teeny bit?

It should be obvious who's cheating... but some folks could get sneaky... ...

Can dually owners remove two tires from the rear to make it a level playing ground with the SRW folks?

Matt - peeing on the parade... .

BTW: I'll buy someone a beer if they can beat Jeff and I in the 'Loudest Exhaust' competition. :-laf

Uh, I just thought of something, I realize TIM is a month away still, but I think we have a burnout contest winner already.

I seem to recall a certain blue 12 valve Dakota that did a burnout in front of the Lions club in Muncie last year. Spinning tires, smoking tires, fish-tailing, the whole bit, to a tune of about 1000' (just a guess), thats gonna be sorta hard to beat.

I'm also pretty sure it had nothing to do with a "brake torque". I need to add a 4000# diesel powered Dakota to my wish list. :D

Mr. Dunbar is gonna end up a rich man in these events, it's a good thing he doesn't sled pull. ;)
