How do you have your E-braked auto set up?

Maybe they should CLEAN you off this site I have driven a new 04 ford it wasn't all that. CLEAN

just curious

Was wondering if that ford is so great why he don't have it listed in his signature, or i may have read his post the wrong way.

Anyways with the last job i had the company had all 7. 3powerstrokes and yes they will run in my opinion there a good engine, but i opted to drive the 7. 3 international, why u ask? well lets say no turbo to sieze up and would run for ever but thats just my opinion. And as for the new 6. 0's haven't driven one, don't wont to but why Ford changed and went to another engine i will never know.

I must say i am Loyal to my Cummins and will never own anything else. Im working on 82000 miles and the more i drive it the more i enjoy it every dayOo.

IN CUMMINS LAND LET THE SMOKE ROLL:D

Well, we pull a 13,500 lb 36' 5th wheel, and I haven't had a problem with PowerStrokes passing me lately. Although I've passed a lot of them..... ;)

HEUI, cackle, cavity corrosion, pilot inj. problems, unfinished main bearing machining, crankcases filled with diesel fuel... ... ..... you can keep your PSD. More Cummins' for the rest of us.

99% of the diesel truck buying public knows very little about diesel engine design. Ford counts on that.

I really have not pulled a trailer with the new 6. 0L, so I can not say how it would do. I have driven plenty of the older 7. 2 PS's, and they seemed OK. I have thou driven 6-8 different new fords with the 6. 0L, and was impressed on some items and others I wasn't. The best ones I ever drove were the first released 6. 0L, they were very quick and sounded nice. But after they started all the re-flashes The engine seemed flat, not nearly as peepy, and simply sounds like it is missing. What ever they did, it doesn't seem right. Too bad it went bad for Ford, I think the engine showed great promise, but now is reduced to something that is anything but crisp, and sounds terrible.

I did like the 5-speed automatic. It shifted very well, down shifted on declines and always seems to be in the right gear. I would love to see something similar in the Dodge. Also there are several options Ford offers that would be welcome in the Dodge. And I personally think the paint and fitament is better on the Fords (Hey, they are made just a few miles down the road in good old KY, no wonder!).

I seriously doubt that there is any Stock Ford out there that could stay with a Stock Dodge, it isn't going to happen. Our automatics may have a few problems, mainly torque converter related, but they are quick. I to have never had a Ford of Chevy pass me pulling a load. I have toyed with them and let them try, but that's about it. The newer Fords sound so bad, I think they are luck to just get moving. That missing-stumble they have would drive me nuts. And the truth is you would have to be a complete fool to make any modifications to your new Ford. The problems they are having, I would not want to have any reason for them to deny me warranty coverage.

LOL at The cleaner! I bet your comparing your 98 Cummins to a new PSD too! . I tow with a friend with a chipped PSD,and he falls back on every hill:confused: . Even though Im pulling a lot more trailer than him. Maybe its my 4. 10's? Either way anytime I see you on a hill Ill wave as I pass:D .

Since this is this fellas second similar post, it's pretty obvious he is a plant from the Ford group out for a troll - er, STROLL...

That's OK, the guys here can easily see thru BS and obvious pot-stirring we are FAR better informed as to strengths and weakness of other brands as well as our own - and DON'T feel intimidated or threatend by trolls here primarily to aggravate or annoy - you won't get thrown off - but you MIGHT get LAUGHED off! ;)

You wanna keep this stuff up? HAVE AT IT! ;) :)

We can use the laughs... ;)

The thing that I found quite amusing, is the poll on the Ford site that asked how many would want a cummins in thier F series if it was an option. More than 50%, last time I checked. That really says something.

Maybe we should start a poll to see how many Dodge owners would like a PSD option for '05! ;)

Dave

hmmm, seems to me that somebody is just trying to stir us up, like we do the Ford guys. "The Cleaner" has a similar post started in the General Diesel Topics Forum. Too bad that a PSD doesn't get us stirred up. Lets post this same type of thing at the Ford site and see how fast we get banned.

Guys, please don't let this one go downhill like the other post did. I had to delete a number of posts out of the other thread already.

I've commented on this board MANY times that I've owned MANY Fords in the past - with no regrets! I have nothing against the newest ones either - very comparable in overall body/interior quality - plus more body style options - the engine, when running properly is capable of excellent power. It's weakness is the fact that it is near the maximum power potential as it rolls out the door if long-term durability is important to a buyer, as compared to the Cummins, which still has LOTS of available power upgrades while still delivering a long lifespan.

NOW, all THAT said, I, like many others here, have NO PROBLEM with a member buying a Ford, and coming to THIS group to report his experience in a decent and courteous manner - or to gripe about problems with his DC truck, if he is really interested in getting help, and not simply trying to stir the pot to see people scramble - if yer gonna toss rocks or make excessively aggressive statements, common sense tells ya yer gonna get the same in return...

IF this guy came here, and said he was a current/former Dodge owner, and now also owns a Ford - and has been pleasantly surprised at it's quality and performance, I'm sure many here would respond with guarded but courteous congratulations - most of us might PREFER Dodges, but that doesn't mean we HATE Fords!

But someone posting headers that scream "FORD RULES", or "Power Strokes are KING", is OBVIOUSLY someone NOT looking for compliments, but TROUBLE!

So don't feel abused or GRIPE when you GET what you came here LOOKING for!

Like yer Ford? GREAT, I'm happy for you - but for every GOOD story about the later Fords, I can find a horror story - I hope you don't end up with one yourself - and it never pays to brag too long or loud - things have a way of coming back to haunt you when you least expect them - I like my Dodge - has given me near perfect service to date - and could burn to the ground tomorrow!

Change the tone of your posts, and be welcome - keep being a deliberate pain, and you'll be just as welcome HERE as one of OUR obnoxious or abusive members would be in the Ford groups... . ;)

Your choice! ;)

yep he's obviously a plant from the dieselstop (LOL) anyways to the clean i say " when was the last time u got 20+ mpg with 4. 10's"????? do i need to hammer the nail any deeper.

And i have to say also, cleaner your not getting anything stirred up here, you have ventured over to a site where we(members) know the facts plain and simple.

Oh by the way have a great day:)

I wasn't going to get into this but just one thing. Come back in 175K miles and let us know if it's still on the road. On the OEM engine that is. Odds are against you. Still, let us know.

I don't know where that guy was from, I just have to assume he was sincere. There is nothing wrong with talking about Fords, so why does everyone get all fired up. It is kind of refreshing to hear about other brands and the troubles or mods they have made. I have owned all three of the big truck models, some more then once, and even a Toyota. They all have there strong and week points. Each is different but in many, many ways they are the same. I like change, it keeps things interesting. Speaking of which, has anyone seen the pictures of Toyota's FTX? it has been in some of the auto mags, It is a version of what there next full size truck will look like. I thought it was neat. Also Honda has a picture out of what there truck will look like when it is introduced in the 2006 line-up. It is not a bad looking truck, kind of like an avalanche on steroids.
