I have the US Gear OD unit on my early '91 (see sig). I was HOPING for more effective gear splitting with my 727 3 speed AT, but the loose torque converter prevents that under all but a small percentage of circumstances, like a REAL twisty upgrade under heavy load and low speed - and a forced top speed in 2nd OD of about 45-50 mph. A tighter, lower stall TC would REALLY bring this setup to life, and it's NO criticism of the US Gear unit - it has been flawless in over 100,000 miles of use with significant towing of our 8,000 lb fifth wheel. It DOES "clunk" pretty noticeably if shifted at higher road speeds, but I normally anticipate usage, and do most in-out shifting at 35 mph or less, The US Gear unit reduces engine rpm by 22 percent, and in my case, moved my top speed from a 80 mph maximum up to 95 mph - that with a 3. 07 differential.
