New Flexplate Design

Quick response to "Your Mom".

Making the flexplate thicker is only one of the ideas being bandied about. It's the no brainer to making something stronger. Your point is clear, if it is so rigid that it doesn't flex, then it may not properly serve the purpose.

One other idea is to use a different alloy that would resist failure. And then it might be possible to make a solid flexplate. Everything is on the table and being scrutinized.

I'd say $400. 00 for a tested bullitproof flexplate is a WINNA!!!Oo.

You Can't Touch This

Well gang, Suncoast Converters has a prototype flexplate being tested. We'd like to get a few more beta testers equipped with this device. For those that have enough horsepower to hurt things, there is a special price. This procduct needs to be tested in as harsh an environment as possible. Contact me or Joe at Suncoast.

Nowel,

I'm interested in PM'ing you, but why don't you have a little "PM" icon in your thread, or profile?

I'd be interested in testing one of these out. But, I haven't even broken the stock one yet. I did break the stock input shaft in 2 weeks of owning the truck, a Billet is about to go in.

What's the minimum HP requirement?

My transmission is coming out for a few tweaks in the near future... and installing a new flexplate would be easy since I'm already in there... .

Anyone Busted One Before?

The guys that would test the prototype best would those that have busted flexplates in the past. Anyone here have that kind of power? Sled pullers/drag racers either way.

Thanks for everyones interest in this topic:)

Come 'N' Gittum

Had a brief chat with Joe at Suncoast Converters about who might be eligible for discount pricing. He said for you guys to give him a call 1-800-868-0053. Sounds like he may let you earlybirds have a dealer price on the competition flexplates.

Just popped my flexplate last night on a test-n-tune run.

It broke at 120MPH, about 2,500-2,800RPM, and 98PSI boost.

Whats the best thing to do now? I am putting an OE plate in it for now,, but is the SunCaost plate really the fix?

Merrick

BTW,, I do have a lockup switch and was locking up at 10MPH daily driving and ~30MPH WOT.
