Undercoating
After DC performed some right rear fender work on my
'03 Ram, I asked them if they had to heat it to get it
straightened out, they replied no that the vehicle has protection
fused to the underside and that heat destroys it. At this point I
asked them why I no longer see undercoating on newer vehicles and
they advised that it is not necessary. I do know that my '96
Cherokee was undercoated and you could punch holes in the floor
from the underside, it was so rotten. I only saw corrosion where there
was undercoating, much to my surprise. The seal could have been
broken when my RR radio was installed under the passenger seat
when it was new,
