Some Assembly Required

NEC is 4 90's max (360 degree) without a jbox or condulet, LB,LL,LR or some pulling point and believe me keep it at 3 or less otherwise it can be a real pain to get a fishtape thru and pull wire.

One side of the slab (The side that the electric will have to enter) has dropped due to poor drainage. I had heard about "Polylevel" and called the Bangor area contractor today for an estimate. Looks pretty slick...they will show up for the look see on 11/02/18.

So anyways there is no point in doing conduit until that side of the garage is back where it belongs. So will hook up the existing 10/2 (with some slack wire) to get a couple of working outlets and lights. When I'm satisfied that all is back where it belongs I will do the 50 amp 220 feed in conduit.

The process is described here, supposed to be better in some cases than "Mudjacking"....

I’m sure you already know, but call in for locates about a week before you plan on digging. You don’t want to damage any existing utilities. It’s too bad you live so far away. I could hook you up with everything you need, including the digging, for next to nothing.

NEC says only one place should the neutral be bonded to the safety ground and that should be the main service panel.

While there may not be much in the way of regulations where you live, keep in mind the NEC is produced by the insurance companies and your homeowners insurance may have a thing or two to say about electrical safety.

If running across the basement ceiling is a pain for PVC, you could terminate the external run in a jbox at the foundation and run flexible non metallic cable from there to the service panel.

Made an offer on one yesterday, Kubota B7500 with loader and backhoe. 158 hours on the meter...
Close, but waiting to hear if offer will be accepted....

Mike you life in a blessed country, over here all that work would have to be done by a licensed Electrician. Cost you thousands of dollar.

I worked communications and oversaw construction while in the US Air Force. I always trench electric 36" deep in conduit. It exceeds specs, but is less likely to ever be cut. I also keep diagram of all utilities on my property.

I wish you were closer as well, I'm sure you have access to everything needed...!!!

It is not too bad out here in the country, no utilities underground as there are in suburbs or cities.

There is a 1 1/4" inbound water line from the deep well pump and the outbund sewer line. Both can be located fairly accurately by going down cellar and noting where they penetrate the foundation wall. Water line is a good 5' deep at least, sewer line is about 18" so I have to decide to go over, under or move the underground electric location completely to avoid all that drama...I'm thinking that's what I will do.

That’s great! And it’s not even a long weekend!

I know, right??? I'm pretty pround of myself!!!

$500.00 off between me and the seller, but I've braced my feet.

If you don't set a limit in your own mind and stick to it you will pay too much....I already offered $500.00 over my mental limit but the little critter is just like new.....

Found another one to look at if this falls through, a little newer and it has 600 hours on it. BUT it has loader, backhoe, 60" belly mower AND A Front mount SNOWBLOWER......Woo Hoo!!

I had no idea how restrictive Europe was regarding everyday life until I met you and got the real story.

Makes me realize what a great country I live in....I tend to take it all for granted and it is good for me to be reminded from time to time of just how special it really is.....

Well, it depends on where you live. Most places permits, local government and licensed people must be involved. In NYC, you’re not supposed to replace even a hot water heater without a permit and licensed plumber. But that didn’t stop me 6 times over the years

One of the first houses I looked at had a BX23 with hoe and sno blade. I was hoping to get to the point of negotiating it in the deal that never happened. Cute bugger though!
Is that blower a hydro hookup, or belt or ??

I’ve installed complete electrical entrances in the past, those passed inspection but I did my homework in advance.

I should have made the statement worded this way..
You can do your own home repairs in the State of Maine but it must pass inspection if one is required.

The worst part of doing a complete entrance is scheduling the power company to pull the meter first thing in the morning, installing the new cable, meter box and main panel, then getting the town’s inspector to check your work and approve it, and then get the power company to come back, reattach the wires and stuff the meter in and apply the seal. In the same day so Your beer doesn’t get warm in the fridge....

I “think” it runs off the mid mounted pto, same one that would drive the mower deck.
