Thanks but I didn't see how thick it is???

Looks like ~0.165 - 0.170" depending on how much I lean on the measuring tool. Approximate measurement shown on tool for picture.

I have one of the B and W lube plates, works perfectly. Haven't had any issues with it trying to bind the jaws on my companion at all.

Curt/RAM 5er hitches are Made in China!!!

They are hard to unhitch if truck and RV are on opposite planes/twisted.

They are known to cause chucking as the heads pivot point is several inches below the kingpin connection.

Simply look atrocious the B&W hitches they put Curt to shame and are US Made. Simple solid NO QUESTION if you are hitched.

Sorry you are WRONG. Curt hitches are fine. Mine has been flawless for 6 years. You must own stock in B&W....

Well we will have to disagree, not sure what I am wrong about?

Curious, have you ever had the hitch hard to unhitch or hitch?

No stock in B&W but I do promote what I feel is the BEST. I do have a couple CURT products that are nice quality and US Made.

Where you are wrong , you made a blanket statement on something you can’t possibly know . Some had problems with chucking sure , some have had problems with about every hitch made .

Being in the metal trades for the past 45 years, what seems to be forgotten here is the material, I would be willing to bet a months salary the BW does NOT use domestic materials. Curt may be made in China, but I can assure you both manufactures use CNC equipt. to cut and form their parts and robots to weld them or at least the majority of them. Now to stand up on a soap box and pound your chest that the BW hitch is made in the USA all the time, you do realize your RAM is Built in Mexico, the Nexen tire you bought were made in South Korea, and it goes on and on. The point being is just because it is make in another country doesnt mean its junk. After all our Ram's are built by Fiat! LOL.

I agree , these replies are a broken record , this Curt being this and that so many many times , its getting rather redundant . What’s the worst here is bashing the Curt to promote the B&W , yet continually guys such as yourself come on here , and report being happy with the Curt .

Personally don’t see the reason to bash a product to promote another .

Personally I haven't cared for Curt products. They weren't bad, it was just I didn't like design choices they made. I usually have to think twice before I buy them but I have no reason to bash them.

I agree.

When I was shopping for a receiver replacement for my 2005 I really didn't care for how they engineered their receivers.

I did own one of their fixed shanks but those are hard to mess up... thou I sold it and bought a B&W adjustable.

Well there is at least one on this thread that finds the reason to bash the Curt at every chance .

Let me ask, how many Curt hitches you towed with ?

I will ask when I talk to B&W where their metal comes from. YEP I have owned two US Made RAM's and 3 Mexican. Sure would rather have them made here! FACT most of the major parts are made in USA. NEXEN's, yea they came off at 200 miles.

Sure funny how you guys get all defensive when all I do is state FACT and Personal experience and direct info from others.

So did CURT keep all their employees working in the big downturn like the owner of B&W did having them do projects for their community?

Funny again did I say CURT is "JUNK" ???

Since you are in the metal trades please be honest, what picture would you say would carry and haul more weight.

Cummins12V98, I'm not here to fight with anyone, I'm simply trying to shine some light on your comment about being made in the USA. It may be assembled and painted in the USA but may have most/all materials from other countries. Sure they could be using domestic materials but it is far more expensive.

I'll be honest both hitches do their job just fine, and pull the load as intended. I personally don't prefer the mitered and welded tube joints of the B&W (that's another story). Again, they are both great hitches...
