I will ask when I talk to B&W where their metal comes from. YEP I have owned two US Made RAM's and 3 Mexican. Sure would rather have them made here! FACT most of the major parts are made in USA. NEXEN's, yea they came off at 200 miles.

Sure funny how you guys get all defensive when all I do is state FACT and Personal experience and direct info from others.

So did CURT keep all their employees working in the big downturn like the owner of B&W did having them do projects for their community?

Funny again did I say CURT is "JUNK" ???

Since you are in the metal trades please be honest, what picture would you say would carry and haul more weight.

Cummins castings are made in Brazil

Avoid the mopar/Curt. Like said it's made in China. I also read and head the hitch can be a pain to unlatch and suck.
Gonna spend the money, might as well get something better. I went for the B&W hitch as well. Extremely well made. I previously had a Reese signature/elite hitch and didn't care for how the side to side pivot was done. Mine had worn a lot. No easy or good way to lube it. So it popped and banged and snapped all the time.

Earl

Earl I wonder why no one jumped your CHITZ???

I would sure like to see their steel certs , we went thru this for decades , our product had to be manufactured out of steel that was mined ,and manufactured in the US. B&W can claim whatever they want. They could very well manufacture their products out of steel made in the US, but the iron ore could be from anywhere.

All our products were either sold for state or federal highways, we had to have certs from the steel mills proving the iron ore came out of the ground in the US. Before the laws were changed we bought tons of steel that was manufactured in the US ,but the iron ore could have been from anywhere ,and it was. There would be times when we specified what we wanted ,and still ended up with the wrong steel, and back it went. As said sure would like to see the certs for the steel sheets , flat bar etc to see where that iron ore came from . Sure they are most likely buying steel manufactured in the US

I am really glad some point out the design trade offs in the OEM Curt hitches as it does point out better options out there for some that take a hitch for granted. Being as the COST to me was the same... It's on the reader to see if the gripes apply to their concerns/use or if frugal or cheap overrides the PIA factor.

Seriously, there is better out there?! Oh, Wow! I mean "Easy Button" Wow!

I was surprised that there is more to a 5th wheel hitch than the weight rating because they all work at the end of the day. Nothing wrong with an OK hitch, but, having to get in and out one more time bang the trans against the RV to get it to bloody release is a step I can do without. I don't miss the Curt or the U-Haul 5er hitches I have had. Just loading and unloading the B&W hitch vs. the Curt 5th wheel hitch is night and day better. Pump the handle in and out vs the automatic B&W, well, B&W is the easy button. Over the garbage U-Haul hitches I have suffered with it's simply no contest.

Hitches I have towed with... Excuse me while I whip out this Attitude F/X: the kind that makes a 2005 Duramax LLY "Cry Uncle" by boiling the washer fluid in the under hood reservoir in Death Valley. LLY, GM's early emissions disaster. This be garbage hitches from U-Haul like the one in this red truck and the one in the 2003 Dodge Ram.

The U-Haul hitch I gave away with the 2003 Dodge Ram because I hated it. It came with the used truck and went with the truck... It's hung again and I got to get in and release the brake, wait for the NV5600 to spin down and drop in reverse, and bang the RV with the jacks down to free the garbage hitch up AND IT DIDN'T RELEASE! So we get to try again a couple times. Oh yeah and poor install by U-Haul had a bolt take out a shock. The install into the truck on the "rails" is a tight fit and required an adjustment at U-Haul as a BFH didn't help.

Looking at OEM shocks below with 100K on them with a U-Haul hitch installed too long bolt hitting it... and tire wear indicating shot shocks.

More to the point: Curt equipped 2008 Duramax LMM. It ran well vs. the same year Dodge Cummins "early emissions" disaster. Loads were priced for older non-emmisions trucks at the time thus fuel costs were painful.

So again some on here that say "take a closer look at the hitch choices" is good advise no matter if some feel it's bashing or not. That call is on the reader.

I had a RBW LilRocker I thought was da CHITZ that banged on takeoff and braking. Reality it was a OK hitch. A friend convinced me to add a gooseneck hitch and a 18k Companion. For one my bed was clear being in Construction that was a huge improvement. Then the simple solid no question if your hitched of the Companion made me realize what a POS the RBW was in comparison.

All I have to say is I bought our RVK3600 for our 1st 5th wheel based on info found here on 4th Gen Rams and Montana Owners forums and maybe 5thwheelforums. The overwhelming consensus was the B&W Companion. Hunting around I found the best price ($800) at a small tire dealer 45 miles north of me in Madisonville, Tx. I was a complete noob to towing anything more than a 5k# pontoon boat. This hitch has been a dream to tow our 17k# 5r with. No screwing around, easy to hitch and unhitch, safe and strong built and easy to make adjustments to the height/front-back placement. And easy to secure with 4 case hardened locks. A bit heavy but can break into two parts for removal. B&W Companion RVK3600 https://www.bwtrailerhitches.com/product/companion-fifth-wheel-hitch-ram-pucks

masterdrago, I have no idea how you paid $800 for a RVK3600 because their prices are set by B&W. Simply do a search below "IS" the price!

Best hitch I have ever owned and still do is a Hensly Trailer Saver . Expensive and heavy but worth every penny because it absorbs so much of the road shock and saves on the wear and tear of you the truck and the trailer ! Flawless towing since 2011. you do need the Demco adapter if using the puck system unless they finally changed the design to utilize the pucks without the adaptor.
