cj i tried the cycle the key thing last nite when i got home , and it actually did something funky with the digital odometer . a P4060 then a P ---- then the mileage showed up ??? i'm going to look in my shop manual later ... if your really worried about a a code to the ck eng from the VA , disconnect your battery for 4 hours , that will rerase the codes , if you still have a problem it will flash the light again ...

Sounds like a "fuel cut defencer" exept on a diesel. We have put these units on turbo eclipses, supras,and mr2 turbos to get around the factory "fuel cut" when increasing boost... ... ... #ad

The diode idea is a good one, it can be done on the gas cars with no problems so why not try the diesels??... #ad

I wondered about the zener diode mod myself, FL60cummins. The zener diode would just dump any voltage above 2v to ground. Maybe the gurus here can tell us why that wouldn't work, or maybe it does. I would be curious to open up one of the boost modules and find out what's inside. I'll bet about $1. 75 in parts.

There is a guy selling the device you have mentioned which will clip the voltage at 2v. This device will cause smoke at low boost conditions. The 2v signal is constant. This is quite cheap to produce as you have also mentioned.

Got the elbow today and it is a must have with the VA (thanks Nowel)! Before, there was a visible dropoff in the speed the tach needle moved after 2000rpm's. Now, there is a smooth, even acceleration from 1500 allthe way to three grand. I took the VA OFF and put the elbow ON - boost showed a max of 19 psi. I then put the VA on and saw max boost of 25 psi! This tells me that the VA must be adding SOME fuel, otherwise where would the extra 6 psi of boost be coming from? Also I was running my regulator boost fooler at the time. I took it off to see what would happen and performance did suffer because of fuel cutting back at 20 psi. So I think I get it now, the boost fooler allows fueling to continue unchecked past 20 psi, and the boost elbow keeps the boost produced by this fueling from getting dumped by the wastegate.

Anyway, big thanks to HVAC for getting this together. I am happy with the $7 investment overall, but in retrospect I wish I had started a group purchase thread, I think I could have beaten him down to $6. 50, these things have a very healthy profit margin #ad
