Here's another option that's available:

"New for 2007 is an optional oil level sensor that operates like an electric dipstick, eliminating the need for the daily check of oil level. "

Sounds like an excellent option!!

I would recomend that on every vehicle is ya could.

Would prevent alot of vehicle from major repairs!

Open your mind and think how this would be helpfull.

I know your first thought is... . "It has a sensor, so I don't need to check it". but, think about it some more... It could also moniter oil levels while driving. It could warn you of low oil before you begin to lose oil pressure. Leaking oil plug? Leaking oil drain line? Leaking turbo feed line? Leaking oil filter?

You can loose oil in a moments notice, and with a sensor, it will give an early warning.

As far as 325/750 rating for the 6. 7L. What is the commercial rating for the 5. 9L ?

I think the HP will be more, and TQ less. I'm thinking 350/700.

well I can not wait for the new truck. I NEED A NEW TRUCK my 02 is getting old. But I need a flat deck. I have to stick with the 02 or go to a FORD Ya right the 02 will last.

Ford sucks!!!!!!!!!!! :-laf

i looked at a ford today... . i also had to tell the sales man on the commercial side that a ford F-550 DOES have a cummins option... . he argued with me, then looked in his book. thats when i said, too bad ya just lost the sale... toodles.

oh, and the fact that i can get a ford with a 6 speed, extended cab and not a quad cab, a nice utility box (what i want) and 65 gallons of fuel for about 5k less than my dodge... i am VERY tempted to go buy the ford... . then i would be legal as well

If it's like most of these gizmos, they only function when the engine isn't running. There's too much variability in crankcase oil level with the engine running - cold versus warm oil, high versus low RPM, etc.
