Update..THUMP what the??

I think I figured out my problem. Seems the Ball mount i have(Putnam Class IV) has to large of a hole in it for the pin. I went to a trailer shop today where i bought it and picked one off the shelf along with a pin and saw how much SLOP there was in there. I asked the service guy and he said yeah those solid mounts have larger holes for some reason. He said there was nothing i could do about it. That ball mount and Ball was not Cheap... and this THUMP really sucks. Anyone else had this problem with Putnam products??? The putnam Hollow ball mount fir just fine. P*sses me off! #ad

The pins come in 1/2" and 5/8". Which did you try????
What I did to my Putman was to cut 1" off the sq bar and drilled a new hole for the pin.
Another option is to find some heavy wall tubing and drill out the existing hole to the OD of the tubing and make a bushing or paint it black and return it and buy another brand that has some quality control, maybe Reese or Draw Tight.
