Finally, some love for my little team! What do you think of Louisville? Has anybody seen the Cardinals play this year? Somebody chime in about them. I`m going get some action if that line is 14 points. Be interesting reading here about Jan 6. DK.

It's currently 14. 5. I'm taking the points. Maybe I'll just bet the moneyline with a parlay to the over (83)

Anyone else want a safe bet? Try Cal laying the 11. 5. That line should move about 2-3 more points before gametime.

I'm in, I got a rusted root rake, originally attached to a CAT D5MXL. I got 22 good oak slat traps. I got a 3 foot hoop net AND THE PEICE DE RESISTANCE for the cali guys. I got a 1967 GENI lamp. With the residue in this thing you could get high as hell.

Okay I am in!

Here I go and miss a day of threads, and people start whuppin' on the most sacred and holy thing in all of Texas next to the Alamo - HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. Blasphemy!

As for you California surfer dude football wannabees, I saw the USC quarterback on TV last night. The interviewer was asking him if he thought he could pass the ball against Oklahoma. The poor kid looked at the football and drooled on it for a minute trying to figure out what it was, then he said, "I don't know, I guess if I kin swallow it maybe I can pass it..... "

Well there used to be an annual High School all-star game, Tex vs. Cal, the Shriners classic... . Texas didn't fair to well and then decided to bow out...

I not trying to jump in the middle of this battle but i live in California and have a lot of family in Alabama parents, grand perents ext. My dad was Military so i have been all over the place and poeple here don,t understand how big football is down there. It think poeple here can be close minded some times thay will rant and rave about some place they have never been to. I think some of them just think theres nothing down there and they just sit on there front porches drinking moon shine. I would love to see Cal and USC go on tour down there and see what happens . Im willing to bet it would be an eye opener for the west coast fans any way ROLL TIDE!

No doubt football in states like Texas and Alabama is huge... . I mean what else is there to do??? The only problem is the better athletes are in California! Just look at the pro rosters of football and baseball, lots of California boys.

I repeat when the Pac-10 has played against the SEC in the past 5 years, the Pac-10 has dominated, they have a 9-2 record.

BTW: USC is ranked #1 despite the fact that their best player on the team was ruled ineligible at the start of the year... he was the most dominate player in the NCAA last year, I'm talking about Mike Williams. http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20040827/news_1s27williams.html

It's true, we say Dude out here WAY more than anywhere else in the Country. I lived in Washington (the real side of Washington, not that sissy la-la westside) for a few years before graduating HS and coming back down here.

Anyway, when I first got up there everyone told me I used the word "dude" way too much. Of course, they all thought my house was on a beach-front street lined with palm trees.

Dude, that last post sounded magnanimous.

In that conciliatory light, let me ask you what should be done to correct the injustice the SEC has suffered this year. You must see how it stings for, the most powerful conference that ever was, to be left out.

Tell me how you would fix the system, I'd rather the old damn thing where USC would play in the Rose bowl and Oklahoma would play in the cotton and Auburn would play in the sugar and it would be a better thing.

This BCS is pure and simple BS!

This is the same crap that Bob Wagner started last year

:-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

I would fix it with a playoff system exactly like Division I-AA. Everyone gets paid the same amount and I would also get rid of all the crap.com bowls.

Don't leave out Ohio. Ohio State went 7-4 this year, but what can you expect after losing 20 (?) players to the NFL last year. At least we beat Michigan (and badly) this year. Thats like winning a national championship to us. OSU and "That team up North" is definitely the best rivalry of all time.

scooter> you are a betting man. I need you. where on the internet can I listen to my home town without waiting for wwl out of new orleans to clear up after the sun goes down.

Dude, what the heck are you talking about?

Did you see who won the Heisman? It was some DUDE.

I think they screwed up the selections on the old Heisman, the Dude might be a better QB than OU's White, but I can say hands-down that Adrian Peterson is the best football player I have seen on field all year. He finished pretty high in the voting for a freshman, reckon we will hear more out of that young man. Going to be an interesting bowl game on Jan 4th, with three top Heisman finishers in the same game

Even though I am an orange-blood I was kind of glad to see that Cedric Benson didn't win, he spent too much time playing under his potential to win an award like that. Benson is an awesome athlete, he could have had 2500 yards per year rushing if he really put the hammer down. Guess the voters all noticed that too.

Who knows though, he may be smart - conserving himself in college like that may lead to a long NFL career.

I was very shocked Peterson didn't win. I thought he would.
