I am getting ready to install a set of twins and have had some conversations with others that say I should not waste my time using a 35 I should go stratight to a 40 or b1 combination. I am primarily concerned with lowering my egt while pulling on the road. I am not interested in racing... however if the need should present itself... well you know. Any input is appreciated.

The 35/3b combo isn't just about big hp. If you don't like the manners of your truck with your top turbo as a single, you probably won't like the trucks manners with it in a twin setup. It is hard to beat the manners of a 35 or 35/40 hybrid turbo. My truck has the same manners as it did at 325 hp. Only now it has them at 500 hp. (lower egt though).

35 3B works for me. Its all about what you want to do with it. Its not the ultimate but it spools right away and drops my EGT's 300 degrees at the track.

For towing the 35 works just fine. I have tried many turbo's over the years and the 35-ht3b combo works by far the best for all around driving and towing.

Well they are in and much to my suprise it was not that bad. Still have not started the engine yet. Does anyone have any suggestion on supporting the 3B? It seems like a lot of weight hanging from four 3/8" bolts. I have thought about some type of support from on of the bolts on the oil return flange to the block. Any suggestions? What size should the oil supply lines be, and should the 3B be fed from the original port on the oil filter adapter and the 35 fed from the smaller of the two?

TIA

4AN size is fine but I went with 6AN because there is a better selection of fittings avaliable.

It doesn't matter on the lines, which goes were, and a support from the low turbo's drain will be fine.

PDR35 and HT3B working for me on the street, and the sled pulling track :D layed down a 646 this past weekend at Ken Imler Diesel Dyno Day.

HX35 or 35/40 is fine. We use it in the dragster. It is getting too small now, but is great for a street / mild race setup.

90% are hand built, as we all think we need to reinvent the wheel, or want something different. . Funny how that works. You can buy a setup from some of the TDR advertisers, or members. Or ask around for some one changing to a different setup.

You can fab a bracket off of the rear of the block. There is 2 threaded holes below the cylinder head. I fabbed up a couple sets of twins and it is nice to remove the top charger and the lower one not moving at all.

I agree with PROSTAR talk to Mark Kendricks He built me an awsome set of twins,We decided on a 35/40 hybrid,It will depend on how you are fueling. For big injectors The 35/40 hybrid would be best. For smaller injectors the 35 would probably be fine. I braced my set up with a bracket from the bellhousing to the flange on the lower turbocharger. Merv

Id be happy to use the 35 if i were you. I have the PDR HX40 /16 on top,and it performs great once under boost, but in twin configuration its just too laggy for me. Id go with a 35 or a 40/35 if I did it againif i did it again.
