Has anyone else used their smarty as an OBD scanner on another, non-cummins, vehicle? Or will it even allow this?

Im just curious if I can use my S-06 to scan my other vehicles.

My CR smarty JR won't read codes on my 02 24v cummins either. Have read it is supposed to but I can't get it to work.

i think ive read that it will only work with cummins powered trucks in other words

it will just work on our trucks.

and remeber you can use it as a scanner on many trucks it will not be locked

Ive used it as a scanner on many 3rd gens. . but I cant get it to scan anything other than 3rd gens.

Im assuming that's because of the PTC portion, its 3rd gen specific perhaps. I was just curious if anyone else had tried and had luck since I did not.

I was able to use mine on my girlfriends '02 Durango, it worked well then. My smarty is a S-04 upgraded with the POD. I haven't tried it on the Durango since it was upgraded with the POD.

I tried it again Saturday for grins on my 02 grand cherokee. Just says "turn key on, hit >" then "turn key off, hit >" over and over, then finally tells me "connection error" after about 10 times of that game.

Odd that it worked on your PT... maybe I should come try your smarty haha.

Oh, and I even removed the smarty from my truck for the heck of it, to see if the vin lock made a diff... nope. Un-Vin locked, same story.
