GM 6.2 with grid heater not Plugs

Any members around the Albuquerque area...

I might try this set up. If I can get a good deal on a centrifugil oil filter. I will mount it up to a hyraulic pump driven by an electric motor. After the oil has filtered, I'll just dump it into the diesel fuel barrel.

Transmission oil

Just reading yours comment on burning used oil... GREAT. I am new with diesels, but could you burn used transmission oil too?

According to Cummins, nothing but used engine oil. They specifically say not to run anything else.

If I put synthetics in the tank, I would make the percentage a lot less, considering they don't burn well. You might just be lubing your exhaust more than burning the excess.

If you want to try burning synthetic oil, pour a couple of quarts into your truck's fuel tank and see what happens. Some burns fine while others drip out the exhaust totally unburned. That way there is no great loss if what you have doesn't burn well. I can tell you from experience that Amsoil does NOT burn!

Personally, I burn a little DexronIII ATF, but in small quantities. I will use up to a quart in a gallon of used oil in a tank of fuel. DO NOT use gear lube or hydralic oil or oil with STP like additives! They seem to gum things up more than lube everything and then burn!!!

It would be handy to just dump the oil in your fuel storage and then pump it into your truck. But, the oil settles out of the diesel if let set. I fear you would have almost pure oil in the bottom of your storage tank and diesel with very little oil in the top! I carry the used oil in gallon jugs and dump in what I need after filling (but not topping) the tank. The movement of the truck keeps things mixed in the fuel tank. I do not make "rocket science" out of adding oil to the fuel! A little variation from tank to tank doesn't seem to matter!

what is the benefit of using crankcase oil in the 12 valves with the p7100 pumps? i was told that pump is already lubricated by my engine oil as it is. i only run mobil 1 so it probally would not be a good idea to run a 100 % syntheic in my fuel. my buddy who runs his own auto shop, his heater is ran off of used oil and i gave him used mobil 1 and it did not burn.

In your case, I would not introduce Mobil 1 in the fuel system. What we are referring to is used dino oil because we are using it as a FUEL to go farther on less $$$.

When you get it for free, it only costs you a few cents and a little time to strain it of impurities and then filter it down to about 2-5 microns before putting in the fuel tank.

Personally, I mix oil with diesel about 50/50 ratio to thin the oil down so it filters easier.
