Hey First Gen folk. I don't know what these trucks are worth, but I just found a real cherry 1993 club cab 350 dually 4x4 up here in northern MN that is for sale. I don't know who is selling it, but man is this truck clean. Even the bottom inside door seams are spotless. 114,000 original miles. Manual trans. He has built a real nice stout flat bed with wood rails on it. He is asking 5400 bucks. What are these trucks usually worth with "low" miles and in real clean shape? Interior is clean as well. This is one of the nicest 1st gen trucks I've ever seen. Could use fresh paint, that's about it.

Thoughts?

If it's a diesel (your post doesn't specify), and it's in the condition you say, it's probably worth considerably more than $5400. 00. Sounds like a great deal to me.

On EBAY, that would probably bring 8-9K. Low mileage and taken care of looks good to you, I would buy it as well. Maybe even make a buck on it on the internet if ya wanted to.

For what it is worth, I paid $6K for my 92 250 CC LE 2X4 with 135K on the clock last March. I bought it from the 2nd owner and was stored winters and was very clean. $5400 sounds like a bargain! Go for it! :-laf

Man this truck sounds like a solid deal. For that price it also comes with a Boss V-plow. Argh! I don't have the $$$, otherwise I'd grab it. Why do the gems always come along when you don't have the ability to buy them?

Rats. Nice truck. Yes it is a Cummins 1-ton, of course. If it was a gasser, I would never have posted it. ;)

Borrow the money !

I hope you figure out how to get it. If not , I WANT IT ! ! ! Let me know where it is and a phone number. R C

Dollar Loan Center? Perhaps !! :D

I'm going to take it for a spin tomorrow AM. If it is a solid truck, I think my sister wants to finally become a Cummins owner!

Any particular things I should look for on a 1st gen truck? Known problem areas?

Thanks!

Here's a short list, rust of course, especially drip rail, rockers, broken or cracked bench seat brackets if equipped, cracks in the cowl area from twisting, vibration, etc. . , any suspension vibrations, plus points for good headliner and no cracks in the grill, timing case to oil pan leaks, transmission leaks, diff. cover leaks, sagging front springs, exhaust leaks around manifold, plus points if the doors don't sag. These are but a few typical things i ran into shopping awhile back. oh!! check the bracket where the steering pump mounts to the frame, cracking or bolts trying to tear through the frame.

Good advice, Jim! Thanks!

Well, I took it for a drive this morning. Man this is a solid truck. The 5 speed shifts smoother than my 6 speed. Interior is very clean. Power windows, locks, and power mirrors all work. Grill is not cracked, looks good. Door may sag a tiny bit, but open and shut fine, so I'm not worried there. No rust. Even the underside of the cab is rust free. It is truly that clean! Hood opens easily, no alignment issues. I didn't see any leaks under the truck. Starts and runs good, and gets up and goes OK for an old stock truck. Took it up to 75mph in the interstate no problem, ran down some curvy 2 lane and it did fine. Tires are 1 year old and in good shape. I'll post pics tomorrow WHEN WE BUY IT!!! Well, actually not me, but my sister and her husband need a towing vehicle, so they are buying it. But at least its in the family and I have dibs on it some day. I told the guy I'd give him 5200, and he took it. Boss V-plow and everything.

1st gen in the family!!!! Oo. Oo. Oo.

YOU SUCK... I mean ummm good deal.....

Ho Hum All I can find are ragged out overpriced 1st gens with 200k on them.

Awesome Deal!!

Good to see someone that needs it is gonna get it.

Oh I'll be posting pics by the weekend. I ain't making this stuff up. :)

The only thing is that it has the two tiny jump seats in the back, not a bench. That's the only thing I'd change.

Is the timing adjustable on these trucks? Can you mess with the pump easily?
