Can anybody tell me why a valve cover gasket cost $80 + ??? There gold threads in the thing or what?

Its a rubber coated metal gasket(at least the replacement I got)

I never should try and guess what price parts are. When I think it will max. $'s it is not when I think it should be cheap $'s it is lots of bucks. Oh well it seems the way it is with me anyways.

I've had mine off about 10 times & no leaks..... You should be ok. I've done alot of work on CTD & never had a problem.
