CATCRACKER,

Yes, the turbo is controlled by its own electronic unit. The signals that are required to run the turbo were easily attained from the Six-Gun wiring harness, so what you saw on the show was a simple interface to the Six-Gun, but the controller could easily be set up to capture that information from other sources.

Peter, thank you for the info. Since the turbo is controled by its own unit, are there plans to make this work on mechanically fueled engine like mine? I'm thinking that you might be able to capture enough information from some sensors already in place. (TPS, crank position, RPM, etc)

Extreme1,

Technically this turbo would work well on a mechanical pump engine, but we have no plans at this time to set up a manifold for the 12-valve. When we get closer to a production release, I might be able to give you a better idea of what would be involved to make it work on an older application.

Tim, have been running this turbo?? I know there have been a few out there... Dean from Wiers Cummins has been running one for about 2 yrs... I know they had to put it back together once... haha. . Last time I saw him they were working on the on-board air for better air supply to control the turbo... They had it set up to be controlled manually. . or have the controller look at the various inputs and adjust...

With the ability to "act like a 9cm Housing" I would think it would better nice to offer one step up in size turbo... maybe something comparable to a HX50-52-55... but for many the size you are looking at will work. . especially if the controller can monitor shaft speed and adjust its housing size to keep from over speeding...

I have a vgt off a 6. 7 but I haven't had time to figure out a controler for it to rn with my 5. 9. but it should spool quick and have a exaust brake.

the 6. 7 uses a basic steper motor so with some boost referance from a map sensor you could make simple system to keep it small for quick spool the ant say 15 pounds of boost change it to the largest setting and let it do its things.
