Recently someone was talking about some new exciting turbo's that will be coming out in about 6 months. If memory serves me, they were suppose to be of variable pitch (??). Can someone refresh my memory on that subject, and is Piers working on this????

I know Ford is using them on 6. 0l's. From what a friend told me they spool up quick while pulling out and then, I guess change as they get up to speed:confused:

The new cummins in the 3rd generation will not have the variable design. It will have some new features that the old ones do not have, like oil pockets, a larger compressor housing and an electronically actuated wastegate

yeah, it is suppose to match the boost pressure with the fuel to give you an optimum air/fuel mix. The new ECM also needs almost twice as much KB of programming to control the new electronics on the engine. Sure sounds to me like the aftermarket fuel/timing box manufacturers are going to have their work cut out for them on this one.
